My PPI PCX220 amp rated at 800*1 mono bridged, which is how I set it up, blew the recommended 80 amp fuse! Never happened in the past, but we did turn the gain to a little over half way and it seems like its not really clippin, but its hard to tell. By blowing an 80 amp fuse does that mean its doing over 800 watts??? We put in a 100 amp fuse and everything is fine now

Not necessarily. It could just be that the amp in not real effecient and has to pull alot of current to make that power.
that makes sense. Its a class a/b amp that is about 5-6 years old so I am sure its ineffecient...thanks
