i got a walmart cheap lightning audio sub and blew it bigtime, i only put 300 watts on it and the cone cracked like crazy, BTW i was playing (Late Night Tip by Three 6 Mafia) the bass was really loud for about 2 minutes and then i heard nothing so i go and pop my trunk and the sub is still playing!!! but the sub is making scratchy farting sounds when it was playing. The sub said it could handle 100 rms 300 peak, what a sh1tty sub.

yeah, and my gain was maxed, so that sub lasted about 2 minutes and when it was still "alive " and playing bass, my trunk rattled like a mother****er! POS sub

blew the 8'' walmart POS playing BME Click by lil jon the same thing as before the sub was loud and then it made farting scratchy noises, and had smoke coming out of the sub! it was hilarious. walmart has no decent subs

i had one of their low end pioneers it was a 12 and i blew that sub to pieces too, (gain was on max for loud bass) i played Throw it up by lil jon when that sub blew.

i got a shitty dual XAF-460 2 channel amp from bestbuy if i got the gain matched from my head unit i'ts not loud at all but when it's maxed it's way louder! and when i put my amp on highpass instead of lowpass filter, set around 40 hz the bass is a whole lot louder then when it''s on lowpass for some reason.

This guy remembers every song he played when the subs blew lol. What else were u doing watching a girl pass by exactly when it blew heh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm gonna say it's not the subs, it's the amp settings.

40hz HIGH pass for subs and maxxed out gains? Are crazy, getting hardons from midbass, or just stupid? I had the same Lightning audio subs (Bolt 10s) attached to my PA 600w rms amp, and had no problems with the vc, cone, or mechanics, just horrible sound.

Even Pyramid will perform well enough to not blow cones when set right. Drop the gains, set it to a LOW pass 80hz filter or something, and stop needlessly blowing subs. That's what we have light sockets for.

lol walmart subs are fun to blow up. try wiring a 4 ohm dvc to 8 ohm load and hooking it up to a house outlet. it playsa 60hz tone at 1,800 watts. that was fun to watch. then had to explain to walmart that it was like that when i got it. smelled like a burnt taco fishy smell
