Blackberry Bold. Opinions?

I really think you need to go to the store and spend a GOOD amount of time with each phone to make a decision. When I was planning on switching from VZW to ATT I played with the Iphone 3g and the Blackberry Bold, about 40 minutes a piece (I like to make sure I make the right decision!) and it came down to the fact that I just loved typing on the Blackberry compared to the Iphone. I can't see myself typing emails and long texts and enjoying it on the Iphone. Yes, it's not too difficult to type on the Iphone, and I have a Samsung Omnia touch screen phone at the moment, but I get tired of typing on the screen.

The Blackberry Bold's screen is also beautiful, and movies look great on it, better than the Iphone 3g.

I would say if you're debating between the two, you should also consider whether or not you want a phone for downloading games and just fooling around with something cool to waste time and such, or have a phone which is arguably more customizable and more messaging focused.

I love touch screen phones, but I really don't mind the Blackberry Bold, because the interface is very easy to navigate through, and you can't beat the track ball!

i own my first BB right now and will never go back...my old phone plan + unlimited text is only like $less than what i pay for my bb calling and unlimited data plan....

Blackberry!!! FTMFW i own 2 8310s ...as a matter a fact thats how im posting right now tethering...i have used the Bold [still waiting on cash flow to buy it] mho there is no other phone like a blackberry - the features all into one get smartphone THE smartphone. if you like the touch screen on the iphone and apps r pretty accessible ..but for me its the blackberry all the way

biased ? yes

heres something pretty cool maybe other phones also do this but 8310 doesnt come with a video recorder..you can update it and get one!!!

get the Bold!!! if you dont like it sell it to me for the price u pay lol

But the screen is kinda small compared to other smartphones nowadays.
Well, it has the added functionality of a keyboard which balances it out IMO. And try watching a movie on the Bold, then the same movie on the iphone. It's still more enjoyable on the Bold again IMO. Blackberry phones are messaging first devices, except the Storm which is just a bucket of crap until they do away with the impossible to type clicking mechanism //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I'm still partial to the Fuze. Fantastic screen (though not as sharp as the Bold), full QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen, TouchFLO 3D interface, etc.

ive got the first gen iphone. all the features someone mentiond before are currently on mine. Copy/Paste MMS no NAV of course but if I had 3G there is an App that gives Turn by Turn i believe. But really its just what your more comfortable using. I love my touch screen keyboard and theres no other phone out there with a touchscreen as awsome as the iphone hands down. I had Bold 8330 through work for a year. I didn't nearly like it as much as my iPhone, theres just so much more on it. I type faster on my phone than on an actual computer keyboard. As for IM'ing goes and messaging, you can get BeeJive (costs WAY to much just for IM) or use Palringo which is what I use. Jailbreak your phone and install the Backgrounder app so that Palringo runs in the background no matter what your doing and you can send and recieve messages still without reauthenticating with there server. Voyager blows, my friend has it, theres just nothing to do what so ever on that thing. My plan for 900 anytime unlimited text and dat is only 45 a month but thats because i have a fat discount. But if you do get an iPhone, call ATT and give them an IMEI from a different phone and get rid of the gay *** iPhone plan and just go with the Media Max Bundle. Its cheaper and you still get everything BUT the visual voicemail. But who gives a shit about visual voicemail? I sure dont..

I have a bold, and I love it. Very nice, and stable phone.. Once the storm gets a mote stable os, it will be a great phone aswell. I own both a storm and a bold

As for the iphone vs the storm, I like the storm much better.. Easier to type on, and ect.. Only issue right now is the os isn't the most stable, but their are other software updates available on crackberry.com. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. Also the screen on the storm and bold are better than any other phone period. Watchn movies on these phones are great, especially th storm since the screen is bigger.

The fuze is a pretty nice phone, I agree. I used to have a slide out qwerty and the only thing I dislike about them is that they aren't very good for one handed use. That's one of the reason's I love the Blackberry keyboards. But if you don't do a lot of one handed use while driving etc. I would indeed rather type on a slide out than on the screen.

And I wouldn't put the Storm in the same boat as the Iphone right now. Their OS is one huge problem yes. But the other problem is the click screen. I spent 40 minutes typing on it, and I could NOT get the same speed I do while typing on other phones. You really have to lift up each finger before you press another key and it really hinders my ability to type quickly.
