Blackberry Bold. Opinions?

The fuze is a pretty nice phone, I agree. I used to have a slide out qwerty and the only thing I dislike about them is that they aren't very good for one handed use. That's one of the reason's I love the Blackberry keyboards. But if you don't do a lot of one handed use while driving etc. I would indeed rather type on a slide out than on the screen.
And I wouldn't put the Storm in the same boat as the Iphone right now. Their OS is one huge problem yes. But the other problem is the click screen. I spent 40 minutes typing on it, and I could NOT get the same speed I do while typing on other phones. You really have to lift up each finger before you press another key and it really hinders my ability to type quickly.

crackberry.com has some stable os's for the storm. Just not widespread yet.. As for typing, I cant type really at all on the iphone. Its so much easier on the storm imo. As for the speed issue, you just have to get used to it, and that will pick up..

I have had the bold for several months, and just got the storm 2 days ago. Have played with it many times before, but just not decided to get it.. Does it run much quicker on .99?

I'm kind of in the same boat. Family is switching to Verizon or Alltel soon (same company really, but until the merger is complete the phone and plan selection is different).

I'm stuck between the BB Storm and the HTC Touch Diamond. The Storm's bugs have been mostly fixed with the newest OS update, and there is another one coming out soon, so I'm not really worried about that. Plus the BB App store is coming soon, which will be nice. On the other hand, the Diamond seems like a nicer piece of hardware, but it runs WinMo 6.1, which I'm not a huge fan of.

I think I'm leaning more towards the Storm becaus Verizon is starting a sale tomorrow with BOGO Blackberries.

Well, I haven't personally heard anyone say they can type faster on the Storm than a physical keyboard. As for the OS, yeah it's a huge improvement from the extremely buggy software it shipped with, but it's still not as smooth and quick as the iphone or the Bold. But honestly I'd get the Storm if there was a way to type without the clicking mechanism. I don't think it improves typing, and I don't see the concept behind it. If you actually look at each letter as it highlights and THEN click the screen, that is a very noticeable decrease in typing speed. If it's supposed to improve accuracy it would be because of that feature with highlighting THEN clicking. But I don't see the point, as it's too slow to actually do that. You end up typing like you would on and other touch screen. Anyway, that's my only main gripe with it.

And for the post about WinMo and hating it. I hate WinMo too, without tweaking it that is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The one reason I absolutely love WinMo is because it is totally customizable, more than any other OS. You can put various interfaces on it, like the SPB Mobile Shell I have on mine, with a huge amount of skins, and it improves usability to the max. Plenty of third part support, you can tweak the registry easily, etc. etc. I have a Samsung Omnia now, and I basically have it so that the WinMo interface is not even used.

Well I don't really want an iphone. It just seems so ordinary now. Like everyone has one.
Does the iphone have gps?

i just went to dinner with my gf for her friends birthday....i counted 4 iphones. yes, everyone has them. you have to, if you want to fit in. duh.

I'm hoping I can get my hands on the new Palm OS soon enough, it looks like a fun OS. If Apple doesn't sue them or w/e lol

I still like the concept behind the click screen better than haptic/capacitive/whatever. If it was executed better (lighter pressure, smaller gaps around the screen, and more responsive software) I think it would have gotten a lot better reviews. But it is the first version of both a new product and a new concept, so it will undoubtedly get better if they stay with it. Personally, I would just rather have a slide-out qwerty, but the only decent phone I know that has that is the Touch Pro, which is way too expensive for me.

But yes, the new Palm WebOS does look quite spiffy. The Pre should be a great piece of hardware. Too bad it will only be on Sprint for a long while.
