BEWARE- HIDs DO NOT LIKE VOLTAGE DROP

I have ddm with zero issues.....I know of 13 other sets that zero issues...
Ive owned 4 kits from DDM. Every single kit I have had from DDM has issues. DDM has refused to warranty any of them for some BS reason thats not under their warranty coverage legal jargon.

After reading this thread it made me think a little bit... considering the fact that my right HID headlight sometimes doesnt work.... and I have to turn my lights on and off once or twice to get the right one to come on. Sometimes it doesnt even come on, and I'm wondering what causes this? +I havent had the light come on in about a week now, what would be expected to be bad?
Check your fuses... my hids did that when I took them out of my chevy and installed them in my Mitsubishi. had to upgrade the headlight fuse from a 10 amp to a 15 amp fuse. Not problems whatsoever since.

That sounds nice and dangerous... Allowing 15a through a wire rated for 10a?

This is not a biggy. I've done that plenty of times because it is needed in some cars. In some cases you even have to install an extra relay to get steady and strong voltage.

Remember, a good set of hids only need strong voltage to start and warm up after that it will be fine on whatever voltage above 12v.

Most of you guys are answering yourself. if a company doesn't want to replace the ballast under warranty, that only means it's garbage.

Get a good set of quality ballasts and your problem is solved.

If the DDM's were bought within the last couple of years, it's ****. DDM used to be good but they outsourced and their quality went to hell.

Buy some better HIDs and you'll be happy. I'm fixing to install my new HIDs tomorrow so I understand wanting them. Just make sure they're a good quality brand.

They used to make really nice stuff, but about 2 years ago they started getting their harnesses and parts made somewhere else. Ever since then their quality has gone for a nose dive.
this is very true, my set from 6 years ago, the ballasts are very bulky and heavy, built like tanks, i was asking for the same set for a friend's corolla, the ballasts now are flimsy with cheap aluminum and plastic.

Wow.... I have 3 sets I currently use and know of 10+ others... Nobody has had any issues...

Wait I take that back, a couple years ago I had an issue where one ballast wasnt turning on.. I changed to a better harness rather than use there 18ga wire.. Lol. That set is still being used in my grand prix!

I'm putting a set in my moms town and country van this weekend
