Better than two CVR 15 on SPL and SQ..

It won't take much to outdo 2 15" CVR's.
My buddy had a pair off a Massive 1500, and my 18" FI Q off an SAZ1500 could stomp them.

If CVX's sound anything like L7's, I fail to see how CVX's and CVR's are similar in SQ.

Personally, the only subs I've heard that sound worse than CVR's are Type R's and Livewires.
Evidentally I have horrid taste in sound because I dont think the Type R's are a completely horrible sounding woofer. I rate them far far above the CVR's and CVX's.

CVX and CVR are about the same on SQ from what I've heard.

Odd, I've heard 3 different set ups with R's, and they've never sounded good to me.

Matter of fact, going from R's to my Q, certain songs actually bothered me, and I thought something was wrong with the sub, because what used to sound like a constant bass note was actually several different notes.

If I remember correctly, LilManiac said the CVX was one of the best sounding subs in the Great 12 Challenge.

Also, from what I've been told, the CVX and L7 are the same save the L7 is square, and the L7's I've heard sounded very good.

I suppose you just have to hear and decide for yourself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Rs sound bad, and L7s sound good?

Woah, that's against the grain.

Is that a yearly...monthly...what kind of restriction is that? Or is it at one time, and how do they value it?
Send me 1500 dollars and I'll snd you 1500 dollars worth of equipment valued at 800...
This is a yearly restriction, and it's due to a currency exchange control policy as well as international trade barriers. But that's another topic. I've got to do my best with the subwoofers available here.

well 3-4 15" subs is a little much for a Jeep Liberty. Most of the cats on here would agree 2 15" is enough. I drive a RAV4, and 2 15's are more than enough cone area, to get your ears bleeding. Past that, get quality, and power it properly.
That said, PB 3XL's would work well for cheap. I'm a fan of their design (and steer clear of RF) so take it with a grain of salt.

If you haven't considered Audioque, Mach5, or DD's, they all have decent options in your price range. The DD's may have to be used to stay in budget (but it's still better than most subs new).

Edit: This is truly a new design constraint, maximum customs value. I like a good challenge. Will try to suggest more tomorrow.

Does the PB 3XL delivers the best SQ from the aforementioned subwoofer systems?

Decent equipment in a proper box will give you great results, regardless of brand name.

I think the PB would do it for ya, and I'm sure that others would disagree. They are excellent subs, with plenty of SPL, but enough quality for your application.

Port them just above their free-air resonance, and equalize everything flat, and it'll work out well regardless of your sub choice (for the choices), just make sure to get something quality rather than quantity.

So, to sum it up, so far I've got the following votes (in order of appearance):

1 vote for 2 units of Kicker CVX 15

1 vote for 2 units of T115d4 T1

1 vote for 2 units of PB 3XL

There is no clear winner here, and I'm guessing that any of those three systems can beat 2 units of Kicker CVR 15 in SQ and SPL.

So, it would be up to me to choose the one with the most aesthetic appeal for me, and the cheapest one of them.
