Better than JL ?

Which subs could I get, for less than $350, that have greater SQ and SPL than two JL 18w3's with 600 watts each? Sealed or ported doesn't matter. Let me know what you think folks.

i dont have any first hand experience with the 18W3's, but id still be willing to bet that the XXX would be as loud if not louder, and sound better. same goes for the SI 15.

edit--just saw you were looking to spend $350 for a pair... nothing comes to mind for that cheap right off the top of my head... give me a ref of what your 18W3's are doing as far as SPL(include what mic it was on if possible), or a target of approx how loud you would like it to be, and i can see what i can come up with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

haha yea. XXX cant be bought new though... can be had used around your price range though. The SI will be just a little more. I doubt that a single si 15 would be able to keep up with 2 18w3, if both were in optimal installs. Never got to mess with either though, so i dunno.

you might be suprised, i had a single SI 15 in a trunk install doing 143's on the Tl, in a moderate install. and i know i had more potential. but then again, i dont know what those JL's are gonna be doing, but i would be willing to bet somewhere in the same neighborhood.

Finding something that will outperform 2 18w3's with only 1200 watts and a budget of $350 is somewhat unrealistic.

If you do manage to find something please let us know because that would be pretty cool.

an 18w3, would sound just like an xxx18. come on now. the box is what would set them apart.
