just wondering what the best way to wire 2 dvc subs with a mono amp is?
the amp is a alpine mrp-m450:
RMS Power (at 14.4V THD+N, 20Hz-20kHz)
Per channel into 4 ohms: 220W x 1 (0.08% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms: 400W x 1
the subs are (2) phoenix gold xs104 dvc:
200W rms each (not sure at what resistance), measured ~4 ohm at posts with an ammeter, and i have read one place on the net that said they were 2/8 ohm.??
had a hard time finding any info on these subs since they are fairly old.
i currently have it wired like this:
if the subs are infact 4 ohm, does that mean the amp is only putting out 220W for the both of them? or does the power output of the amp depend on the way you wire the set up? or is there a resistance switch on the amp to change between 4 and 2 ohm?
if anyone can help me understand how to wire these to get the proper power and resistance that i need all around i would really appreciate it.
