My ultimate goal is to create a charge/audio cradle for my iPhone. I'd prefer to hardwire a charging solution (rather than using cigarette lighter).
That said, I have a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4. It had (stolen) a TV for the rear passengers and a VCR in the center console. It still has RCA "GAME PORT" 'Video' and 'Audio' plugs on the left rear passenger wall near the door. I believe the Audio there will only be mono? It also has the IR portable headphones with the receiver above head in the console.
When my TV/VCR were stolen, they were kind enough to leave a portion of the cables in the VCR section. I'm thinking that may be a start for stereo audio? I see a red, black, and two yellow (molded together) cables.
If the VCR cables aren't sounding like an option, what kind of work do I need to do to the head unit to get RCA inputs?
Thanks for any help!
