best way to wire these subs

Hi everyone, i'm new to this site and just have a quick question

I have 2 Kicker CompVRs, 4ohm DVC, 400w rms each, 800w max each

Size: 12 inch

Rec. Sealed Box Dims: 1 - 4.6 cu.ft.

Rec. Ported Box Dims: 1.75 - 2.25 cu.ft

Free Air Usage: not recommended

and an amp Power Acoustik LT980

WHat would be the best way to wire my subs, right now they are wired parallel with the amp NOT bridged. Can I bridge my 2 channel amp for more power, just wondering?

is that amp 1 ohm stable? and it looks like you need a bit more power than what you have.

no its not 1 ohm stable, i just want more power out of the subs

is my amp even powerful enough? for my subs

Meh I would give it more power...but if you already have the amp it wont be too bad. Wire each sub in series to reach an 8 ohm load. Then wire both subs in parallel for a final 4ohms and bridge the amp...

The other option would be to wire each sub in parallel and drive each of them off of a single channel @ 2 Ohm stereo.

The option mentioned by Fast1one will give you a lower overall current draw and a cooler-running amp, however and is the better option of the two IMO.
