best tunning to hit all frequencies

okay. so is one of my problems the plywood im using or no?

i havnt been on in a few days and i havnt been working on my system these past few days.

hopefully i can start on fixing the box tomorrow.

i was listening to it yesterday, and i noticed that sometimes when i crank it too loud, when the bass hits my full range washes out, like it distorts when the hard notes hits. is this because of the subwoofer or is it possibly cliping from the full range amp? i was thinking the subwoofer was taking too much power so it distorts at those levels, but then i was thinking, maybe clipping?

the RE MX is such a waste of a sub in higher notes, and very inefficient. go with a large azz sealed or ported box. or get a better sub, i had four and didnt like them.

why didnt you like your mx?

well i saw it and really wanted it, so i guess until i try it out in a good box i wont be able to say for sure if i like it or not.

so far i do say it sucks for higher notes, but cant tell yet.

Not true. MDF is more acoustically dead than the plywoods you buy at Lowes. Good 13 ply plywood is about as good as it gets.

so very true. some of the best boxes are made from birch plywood.

ill take 3/4" birch over 1" mdf all day long.

as far as tuning even greg at RE will tell you 33 HZ and they just dont play loud at higher than 60 ish.
