those only cost about $130 each, i guess i shouldn't associate cost with performance but, something tells me you get what you pay for and i really want a killer system so i have no issue spending $500 on a sub, and i'm going to be skeptical on spending anything less. my expectations for bass are really high, i just don't want to take a chance on anything but, absolute quality.Street Duty SDC2.5-12-D4 Subwoofer . I would go with 2 of these brand new. Then I would get a design from someone off the forum (RAM_designs for instance) and spend the rest on the box, and maybe an eq/linedriver depending on your headunit
audioque subs dont sound good TO ME, but they do get very loud.those only cost about $130 each, i guess i shouldn't associate cost with performance but, something tells me you get what you pay for and i really want a killer system so i have no issue spending $500 on a sub, and i'm going to be skeptical on spending anything less. my expectations for bass are really high, i just don't want to take a chance on anything but, absolute quality.
which sub does bettrnreverse have, did i miss that post?Ok too much nonsense going on in this thread...if ur gonna keep that amp then go with something like an xcon....if ur gonna also upgrade that amp to say something that's like 2000+ then move up to say a nightshade or something that's power hungry and loud....bettrnreverse subs is a beast this I know....
If ur gonna stick with 1500 tho and have that much money go wth the ssa xcon 15.....
One beefy 12, such as the one suggested would work, but its only 1/2 the cone area of 2 12s, which means 1/2 the output (loudness).
where is the 'line' like i mean if your amp is 1500 watts RMS where would you draw the line on one beefy sub, no more than 1500 watts, what about 2k watts?I understand, but if you want a lot of output, you will be better off with more cone area, which means 2 subs, or maybe 1 15, but 2 12s would still be more. It also comes down to how much power your running, running ~750 RMS per sub. If you get huge beefy subs, and only give them a lil bit of power, they will barely move, and you will probably be disapointed. Those AQ subwoofers will be pushing hard at that power, which means they will be getting loud. Im guessing the install is going to be the same rather he goes with 1 sub or 2... Just saying. I also mentioned getting a box design and spending money on the custom box, but you deleted that part.depends on the install. just saying that half the cone area means half the loudness is just flat out incorrect.
subs can take a bit more than their rated power if you do it right. and just because an amplifier says it can do a rated rms, doesnt mean it HAS to, you can control the amount of power an amp puts out by turning down the gain knob on the amp
