that **** i dont like
i just got a rockford fosgate t1500-1bdCP. i wired it to 2 ohms on a memphis mojo 15-cm15d4, and it heats up within 15 minutes of me playing it. i set the gains with a dmm, setto 56.5 volts which is 1600 watts rms, the sub handles 1750+, the box has a net internal volume of 4.2 cubs, tuned to 32 hertz, the amp frequency is set to 45 out of 250, the gain is set a little under halfway, i have stock 95 amp alt, with no big three. now my question out of all of this is what is causing the clipped signal? is it because i do not have the proper electrical system which is making the amp work to hard, thus putting out dirty power or what? i have an hc800 in the back and thats about it, my lights still dim at night pretty bad.

in bold man. 1500 watts with a 95a alt is gonna be a good load for the alt let alone not letting the power freely flow. give it some help. do the big 3 at minimum.

already in the process of gettin an alt. what size would you guys reccomend? i want something that can handle 2k watts with no problems.

doing the big 3 is welding wire ok to use for this? i live in a small town any decent wire is like 40 miles away.
welding cable is fine.. But I'd shop online for some nice name brand 1/0 power wire before buying welding cable local... If you could measure the length you need, I may have enough 2/0 welding cable laying around that I'd sell pretty cheap.

So everyone thinks getting more power to the amp is going to keep his sub from getting hot ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
More Clean power is better than less dirty power. Say if I ran 1500 watts rms on a 75 amp alt. That's dirty power or a clipped signal. A clipped signal is distortion which makes the amp work to hard which makes the sub work to hard. That causes them both to get hot and low. However if I run the same set up on a 200 amp alt, I could give the sub more power, let's say 2000 watts rms and it would take it like a champ because the upgraded electrical is picking up the slack for the amp making it work less. Think of the 200 amps and the amplifier as people and the rms the weight. The higher amps the alternator is the less weight the amp has to carry. This is why I figured it was my electrical.
