W7 all the way! If you say differently then you must **** at building boxes!

Who died and made you car audio king. As Zane and Audiolife have stated before, there are problems with the W7, although it is really just preference. This doesn't mean that they don't rank up there, but they are not at the top, and why pay such a huge price for the W7. I put SQ into 2 different categories........affordable sq, and pricey SQ, and for the price of the W7, there are a few more high priced subs that are relatively better than the W7.

I'am the king!!! no seriously all crap talking aside....they play a broaderspectrum w/ less ditortion than most subs on the market that is unless you use the **** button on your radio or amp

I'm still gonna disagree, there are are few subs that are capable of better sq, than that of the W7.

so your telling us we **** because we personally are not that impressed w/ the w7??now if JL fixes the mechanical problems w/ the sub and lowers the price.....i would think about getting it....but untill that happens i think the w3 would be a better investment.....

You say that they play a broader spectrum, but actually have a hard time producing certain upper bass frequencies...this is a problem for a SQ sub that I hope will be remedied b4 next year's model...as well as the price

I'm thinking of going with the Phase Linear Aliante 12 Ltd Si. Hopefully I can get a demo before I drop many many bills on this sub.

W7 is ok...really needs more work and for that price you can get some ecilpses subs.

but i won't argue about my opinon

as for the w7 my shop sells jl so i back it because it is a great product.

i have also built many boxes 4 w7's and yes if you runit ported you lose most upper end bass, but in the right sized sealed enclosure it will preform upper end freks

very well. we have one in a 98 supra that sounds perfect.

in my humble opinion, the macdaddys can rip JL a new one......

when your cone is so stiff they needed a gigantic laser to cut the kevlar for the cones, you know they have to be something special. Also when a healthy 25 year old can punch the woofer full force and the **** thing barely moves, chances are you can get some SPL outta the thing! They may cost more, but SQ wise i think they are superior

Why would you want to punch an expensive woofer? If you punched a hole in it, your screwed. I think crutchfield has some thing next to the RF Power Hx2, that says a full grown man can stand on it, something like that. Anyhow even if you did punch through the cone, you hit the coil and so on, that wouldn't feel very good know would it?

If you feel you are correct, but you are not 100% sure, isn't that an OPINION?

IMO....

Just about sums it up... It's opinion folks... There really is no definitive perfect woofer (although the servo drive contrabass comes pretty **** close IMO), just sit back, listen with your ears, not your eyes, and don't worry what the rest think, it's YOUR music, enjoy it!
