Do what you want. But from my experience, I'd amp my factory speakers before replacing them with no amp.

I would go with the Infinity Reference speakers run off the JBL amp, like I said before. If not, stick with Pioneer.

Im not looking for extremely loud...I don't know why you guys keep thinking that. All I want is a speaker that can produce sound at high volumes without popping and blowing. Right now I can't even get my speakers up loud enough to make my sub pound.

well its not that difficult.. but things do get more complicated and expensive with another amp.. an alternator isnt too hard to find in a car.. it looks like this :http://www.mralternator.com/

look at the one that says "high output alternator" thats probably the closest look out of those to what regular alternators look like. Its just got some sort of wind on it.. I dont know anything about cars at all and i found mine.. but it might not say how many amps it is anyways.. just call some place that does work on starters/alternators.. look them up in the phone book. Give them a call, ask about upgrading your alternator and ask how many amps your stock alternator puts out.. just get some info so that you know what your looking at, and what it would cost to upgrade if you need to.

OK...i thought of a way i could maybe be able to get a speaker amp. Im thinkikng about only getting the JBL 300.1 instead of the JBL 600.1 for my sub. I have 1 12w6v2 and its rms rating is 400. This way it will save me money and draw far less from my electrical system. hows that sound? Now what should i do for 4x6's and 6x9's and an amp for them. I would like to get a 2 channel amp for these speakers for a reason...but its to long to explain on here. Im looking for cheap!!!! The best you can get for cheap!!. Im not looking for outstanding sound...just something that wont distort at high volumes. Thanks guys.

f*ck that dont do it. Get the 600.1. Get some decent speakers and dont amp them.. if they dont sound that good unamped get an amp.. Dont go getting a 300.1 and deny your subs that extra precious power they deserve.

lol....aright this is what i think im going to do. im going to buy 6x9's and 4x6's first and see how i like them. if i feel they need more ill go ahead and buy an amp and then maybe get the 600.1 for my sub but maybe just the 300.1....if i like how the speakers sound without an amp i will definantly get the 600.1....so now what speakers should i go with??? Im looking for around $100 for a pair of 6x9's and around $60 for a pair of 4x6's. So what do you think?

go to circuit city and stereo shops and places like that and listen to different types.. see how they sound with a deck the same or similar to yours.. remember though that how they sound in the store will still be different cus inside a car is a much different environment.. but it will still give you a good of how your system is going to sound..

i will go out eventually (when i find time) to go out and listen to some...i was just wondering everybody elses opinion on what to go with? I see alot of people saying the Infinitys. Do they just reccomend the kappas or the regular infinitys? Im planning on send very little power...maybe none at all. If i do go with an amp ill probably just go with a JBL 80.2. What does everybody else suggest?

My friend had some kappa 5x7's and i didnt like them.. no midbass at all. Could have just been the small/shitty enclosure it was in in the panel of the car, but i wasnt impressed... He also didnt have an amp going to them. I think the infinity reference might be better.. i dont know.. go check them out..

polks cheapest line sounds pretty good. also look at infinity and the pioneers aint to bad either.

what are some good websites that sell some of these speakers for cheap?? Most of you people are just naming brands. Im assuming the top of the line Infinity would be better then the bottom line MB Quart. Im just looking for the best for the money. Around 100 for 6x9's and 50 for 4x6's. Even if they are good quality pioneers...what do u guys suggest? send me some sites with specs and everything.
