Best Speakers for $$$

Why does it always seem like people have to give the sub rms or better? I dont give a shlt about what you think you might know 300 watts to a 400rms speaker WILL move the sub and sound dam good period ahmen. Bumpin 300.1 will move the sub I am the one that recomend that he does that AND I will stand by what I say. SO what about rangerman when he had 2 XXX 10's of a autotek 1500.1. Sure they wernt getting RMS but they were as loud as hell.

If he needs to save a few pennys to get a amp for the inside speakers then id say drop the 600.1 get the 300.1 and the inside amp because it will sound much better. PLUS he is looking for minimal strain on his electrical system. Bumpin this is the way to go I talked to you for a while today and I know what you want. and if it isent loud enough guess what..thats what they make ported box's for.

well go ahead and get the 300.1 and be dissapointed. You wont be fully powering it though, and not only that, if you ever get upset that your system isnt hitting hard and want to get another sub.. which will probably happen, you wont have the power for it.. 1 sub is pretty week as it is, especially underpowered and in a sealed box..

because when most people underpower a sub, they turn the gains all the way up to "compensate" and end up blowing the it

just keep in mind that you'll have 1/4 as much power as you do now and 1/2 as many subs, so don't expect it to be as loud

i don't expect it to be quite as loud...but it is in alot smaller car....where the seats do fold down. I just figured out that JBL amps require an RCA adapter to get full power out of them...this pretty much doubles the power. So between a smaller car and the RCA adapter....it will be pretty close. I still have not decided... i migh still go with tthe jbl 600.1 First im going to buy my 4x6's and 6x9's and install them and if im satisfied ill get the jbl 600.1...if im not satisfied im going to get an amp for the speakers (jbl 80.2) and then get the jbl 300.1 for my sub.

Well then its time for them to go back to car audio basics, and start to understand the concept of distroition and poping subwoofers.

i just thought of somethin....what if i kept both of my subs and just went down to a jbl 600.1??? That would be alot louder then 1 on a 300.1 and even louder then 1 off of a 600.1. What do you guys think??

I always recomend people reading something like the car stereo cookbook, it really helps understand the basic concepts of freq's, box design, distorition and all the fun things we seem to answer daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In theory its 3db louder by adding another woofer with smae amount of power applied to that one also. but im sure we could make it louder than +3db if we try hard and get a good box in the trunk:D

I think the 600.1 is the way to go. Remember two things, your not actually getting the full 600wrms until you crank it up loud, and when you do that, the JBL's will put out more than 600wrms. I had a very loud Kicker setup one time with 300wrms going to it, 150wrms per sub. So don't get put off by the fact that you don't have a butt load of power going to your subs. And if you port it, your 600wrms becomes even more valuable. Port it low and you won't lose that precious "SQ."

For your purposes with the highs, which is "bang for your buck" sound, I'd go with Infinity Reference series, don't even worry about Kappa. And again, I'd run the JBL to them. If not JBL then Profile Clarus or Kicker.

yeah that would be a wayyyy better setup to have 2 of those subs in a ported box with a 600.1 rather than a 300.1 with 1 sub in a sealed box.. Otherwise i'd say run 1 sub ported with the 600.1, or maybe even with the 300.1 cus then you wont need the extra power since you usually need less power for a ported system.

The jbl 1200.1 is capable of running at 1 ohm but it gets hot.. so i believe the 600.1 would also.. If you ran them both at two ohms and in parallel that would give 1 ohm. Or you could get a different amp altogether.. i dont know which one though.. dont get the amp i have cus it puts out hella power and you could blow your subs ilke i keep doing.. GRR dont remind me.. i'm sick of popping noises. Well if you ran your system at 4 ohms you would be ok but that would be kinda pointless except sq would be better.. less power though..

so is there any way i could run 2 dual 4 ohm subs off of a JBL 600.1 or no?? If not...what amp that pushes around 600 watts would work with it for a decent price?
