i love going to best try around here, the last time i was there i was buying a cd, and like the OP heard some sort of noise coming from the car audio area so I went over, heard the saleman saying that he's got 4 or 6 of the xyz brand subs in his car and its the loudest thing in the area. So after the customer walked away(didnt buy anything, hehe surprise) I walked over and was looking at the new alpine headunits(didnt really care for them) and the guy came over and we got to talking and I mentioned I heard him say he's got the loudest system in the area, and he starts braggin and going on and on, and I said well, lets make a long store short, I said you arent very loud. He goes yea I am, I said ok, how long you gonna be here, he said like 3 more hours yo! haha, i said ok Ill be back in a few minutes. Went home and got the van, hehe they didnt know what to say, took him for a short ride too, he didnt like it haha. I told him to come to a meet and we'll see how "loud" he is. sorry to make that so long but its funny. People think just because they work at best try in the car audio dept that they have the loudest system on earth. Haha, whats the saying, o yea: Ignorance is bliss!! haha

I dont know why, but when I was at cartoys buying my focal speakers, the store manager had this one cusomer take me out to his truck and show me his stuff.

he had a 10 l7 in the center unit between the two seats. he had two sets of focal 6.5 comps and i never saw anything else. but **** it was hell of loud because it was all in the cab. not to mention his truck was 6'' lifted with 24''s and he had he was going to swap out his current lift kit for an 8'' one.

haha buy ya, i was looking at cartoys and there was this preloaded jbl setup with two 12's, and the sales person was so proud of it. i was smiling because it sounded so bad... my single sealed 12'' w1v2 is getting loudeder then that thing of his did. ugh.

guess im getting old, but i dont care for arguing about car audio with some kid that took a few hour class to work in that department.

same with most shops they think all there shit is the loudest out there, but its just a sales pitch. so if your going to buy somthing go in and buy it, if you want to be fed BS, bring a spoon and ask them questions.

i went to best buy to hear how the 12 type r's sound(this site has made me want type r's for some reason) and the whole time they couldnt figure out why the subs erent working..then came some bs reason about the wiring and how i should hear the rockfords.....never again will i step into the car audio area of bestbuys

Haha yeah have to love the circuit city and best buy fuk ups lol. the best buy buy me this guy was like yeah Dual's are really good man probably better then what your bumping now and i just said to em i was like yeah thats funny he was like what is i said what you said you don't have the amp even tuned right for customers to actually hear the sub and Duals just **** anyways and the music you guy's pic for the subs **** he was like u know what you don't know anything i was like ok...w/e u say then got my friend came back he tried doing same thing to him as he did to me he said the same shit and he started saying how i was right to the best buy guy and he was like u want to hear a real system so he parked right by the best buy door one 15Massive sub and the guy just didn't even say anything but look on his face priceless lol. circuit city just gets worse haha.

I don't really care to bash Best Buy as a whole, because there is a lot of neat stuff in there, CD's, computer stuff, ect... but when it comes to car audio, they can't really play to our crowd here at the forum. There are some serious people on here with some serious equipment with specific sq, or spl needs, and to those they just don't cut the mustard. My big thing is when they try to come off as having a weath of knowledge, and I look at them like im lost and say o really? LOL!

it's not just the car audio department, it's pretty much the wholestore. Like the computer stuff they sell in there is really meh, like the car audio stuff.

Dual is a low end brand they usually sell at Best Buy/Circuit City or walmart.
