I was in Best Buy today looking at CD's and someone was thumping a sub. Well you know I just had to go check it out. A salesman was showing a guy how several different subs sounded. He was pounding a set of 12' Kenwoods in a ported box and they sounded just hidious. The infinity's were a little better but not much, they were in a sealed box. Wow how embearassing it was. I don't think it was the subs, it was the amp that was pushing them. Sounded like the gains were just way out of wack. They finish up and I was kind of chuckeling, when I overheard the salesman tell another employee how bad those f-ing subs sounded. My God that was bad! Why didn't they check that stuff out before they try to sell them. If you could have seen the look on this guys face. If I had subs that sounded that bad, I would burn amp and all. LOL!

it kills me becuase the pioneers at my store, (which have more airspace) are louder than the type R...(which is in a tiny enclosure) haha

I love it when you go into the demo room, listen to joe schmoes cd and he is all messing with the speakers and crap and it sounds like poop.

i got bored with laughing at best buy, and the only things i pay retail for are computer accessories, which are cheaper at compusa

i've actually been thinking about going to bb again, cause i want to see a wii, but rumor is they don't let you play it, plus dealing with holiday shoppers FTL.

Louder than type R, thats a laugh. In the nicer audio shops in the metro area where I live, this best buy thing just doesn't happen. They make sure their equipment sounds good. Everybody looses when the equipment you are trying to sell sounds like garbage.

i love going to best try around here, the last time i was there i was buying a cd, and like the OP heard some sort of noise coming from the car audio area so I went over, heard the saleman saying that he's got 4 or 6 of the xyz brand subs in his car and its the loudest thing in the area. So after the customer walked away(didnt buy anything, hehe surprise) I walked over and was looking at the new alpine headunits(didnt really care for them) and the guy came over and we got to talking and I mentioned I heard him say he's got the loudest system in the area, and he starts braggin and going on and on, and I said well, lets make a long store short, I said you arent very loud. He goes yea I am, I said ok, how long you gonna be here, he said like 3 more hours yo! haha, i said ok Ill be back in a few minutes. Went home and got the van, hehe they didnt know what to say, took him for a short ride too, he didnt like it haha. I told him to come to a meet and we'll see how "loud" he is. sorry to make that so long but its funny. People think just because they work at best try in the car audio dept that they have the loudest system on earth. Haha, whats the saying, o yea: Ignorance is bliss!! haha

well when i drive by a best buy or a circut city in my area ..they always have the shutters up so people can heard the subs play midbass...lol...thats all it is i dont hear no low notes at all....so what i do is have my 2 front windows have way down and play a song that has low notes in it...and drive buy somewhat slow or sometimes i stop and park my ride in front of the garage and ask a installer a simple question ...like " do u guys have the new pioneer radio's in stock yet or if they have a spare fuse " or something to that affect. and 9 times out of 10 they ask wat i have in my ride...when i tell them 2 12's they cant believe it..but then again there narrow minded......2 mtx 4500 12s is very loud for them..lol
