best budget battery?

there a site or number we can contact for those?
i live in nashville, tn btw..
If Interstate distributes Optima in your area, you need to find out where the warehouse is. They keep pallets of blems, returns, and "refurbs", and you'll have to go to the warehouse to see what they have. The availability varies, but the prices are great when they have them. I lucked out and found mine in a wholesale trade-in at my dealership. All it cost me was the $15 junkyard battery I'd been running for 2 years.

What part of AR are you in????? I'm right here in LR //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D
I'm in Arkadelphia. I had a job in LR for a couple of years, and racked up 42k miles a year commuting. It's a good thing I like adding a lot of miles to my car. It's currently at 354k, not bad for a $600 car.

i just did some reading, and the odessey 2150 has an internal resistance of 2.2 milliohms while that ups battery claims 4 ohms.

from what i understand the higher the internal resistance the longer the power will last (ie, low power for a longer time)

the lower the internal resistance, the shorter the power will last (ie, high power for a shorter time).

every person (people like scottie johnson for instance) i have seen has recommended big capacity/low esr batteries for car audio

I'm waiting for Jeff from Gruber Power to get back with me about this. I don't think that 4ohms is correct. Don't quote me but I'm double checking to be sure.

yea i didnt either. most AGM batteries should be similar as far as ESR goes i would assume. even the optima read top which is their regular lead acid battery is .003 ohms, and AGM batteries are suppose to be a good bit lower in internal resistance than lead acid batts.

Well Jeff from Gruber hasn't gotten back to me yet but I'm almost positive that they made a mistake when posting the specs. Look at Grubers 34aH battery it has a max discharge current of 1360 amps for 5 seconds with 9 ohms of resistance? Impossible.

I bet that someone fuct up and posted the wrong numbers. It's supposed to be .4 milliohms not 4 ohms.

I just got a message from Jeff at Gruber Power and the batteries do indeed have a ESR of .004 milliohms, So Basically your buying a brand new Kinetik HC2400 for around $185 shipped. You absolutely can not beat this deal anywhere. Used ones go for this price.

The only thing I would be worried about is the terminals on the battery. Those seem to be proprietary to me.

Not hating or anything like that but in what way would they have you worried?

Being proprietary meaning what? Privately owned....Or Manufactured exclusively by the owner of intellectual property rights (IPR), as with a patent or trade secret.

Either way I don't see how it could worry anyone.

Meaning they don't look standard. From the picture it looks like some sort of connector that is only found in the UPS would be able to work with it.

Most batteries either have a standard post or a standard bolt.

the gruber batteries just have like a spade on the top, if thats what you are talking about. I roll those in my daughters power wheels, I have 3 power wheels with lights and sifferent motors and shit like that on them. I have not tried gruber in a car audio type application, but they are good guys, you will have your stuff in no time. Anyways I have been rollin an Exide Orbital gel cell in actually 3 different cars for a few years now and it rocks. They sell them at NAPA under their brand.
