Most normal comp sets will get too loud for the average listener (IE, drive them out of the vehicle) off ~33 real watts. It's the overhead and improved SQ that we get by amping them that makes us do it, IMO.

Also, i recommend Oz Audio Vectors and Rainbow Dreamlines. Both are in your price range and devilishly good comp sets. >=)

 
how will you install these? sealed ib or what? getting the "best" never the less bang for your buck means more than just branding speakers. if you want a simple drop in that sounds good without much added work i second the syncs. you talk to tech support about your application and do as they tell you (and know you are doing it right lol) its a tough set to not be happy with.

 
so would you pick the Rainbow Dreamlines over the JL XRs? The XR's are somewhat pricy, i'm still really deciding on what comps to get.

Do you have a site/specs/dealer for the dreamlines?
