one tweeter louder than the other

im having trouble wiht my tweeters, one is very loud and the other barely produces sound at all, im powering them with a sony XM102 (i think?) its an old 2 channel amp, it's been like this since i hooked them up so im assuming it is my amp. its fine if i put the quieter tweeter closer to me and the louder one farther away, but if i switch them around it makes me dizzy because one is so loud and i can barely hear the other one, i don't want my passengers to be dizzy, so i wanted to check with everyone before bought a new amp, i checked all my wiring and it was all correct, i thought that maybe i had one wired out of phase and it was just creating bad cancellation.

any suggestions?

ohh is a the alpine type s 5x7 component set.

thanks alot.

fu ck passengers, ive never even considered trying to make my ride comfortable or sound good to them. hell i got the seat all the way up in my truck on that side if they wanan ***** they got plenty of room in the back, sounds like its blown to me

there could be a TON of reasons why one seems not as loud as the other. one your timing aligment is probably off. another reason come be if you have to set the gain for both channels the gain may not be prefectly the same for both. tweeter level may be different in xover ect

no, i dont think there was a level adjustment, when i switch the speaker wires out of the amp, the one closer gets louder and the farther one gets quieter, that's why i think it is the amp, not the tweets. there is an adjustment for both channels, its set the same, although i have never set the gains with a DMM

Where they're run won't matter.

I know this is obvious, but have you checked the balance on your HU?

Also, have you swapped the RCAs left to right to see what happens. If the problem switches sides when you do that, the problem is either with the HU or RCAs. Hook the HU directly to the amp with a set of RCAs (don't worry about routing them somewhere to hide them this is just to rule out the RCAs as the problem). If the problem oes away, then the problem is a bad set of RCAs. If the problem is still there, the problem is the HU.
