best 4" midbass

Probably some of the best midbass you can get out of a 4"er that can run well IB...if you don't mind the 8ohm imp.
I'd have to agree. I can think of other options, but for what your asking, and the location you're looking to use, I think I'd go with the Peerless as well.

The Seas L12RCY is a very nice driver itself, and definitely digs deep for a 4". However, being in the dash, adding the cone breakup that an aluminum cone presents would not be a good idea due to reflections.

The Seas CA12RCY is a good woofer, with a much smoother response than the Peerless, but it's almost double the price. However, you can never go wrong with any Seas driver that has the letters "CA" in front of them.

So, the Peerless is a great option, especially for the money. The Seas CA12RCY is another option if you're looking for more options.
