these seem to be my options, i have alpine pdx m12's, birth sheets at over 1300 rms at 2 or 4 ohms

dc lvl4/5 hybrids or xl

sundown nightshade

dd 9500

incriminator death penalty

all 15" subs with rms ratings of 1500 rms

what would be my best bet for a SQL sub and give me the reliability/longevity for years of use and abuse

I've heard DC, DD, and Nightshades and all are solid and can sound decent (subs designed for SPL applications and huge power handling are generally not terribly musical though).... can't comment on IA.

You should also check out the big boy Atomic sub. They use some very stout softparts and the motor is comparable to all the above. Also worth considering is Fi BTL.

dd very expensive not that good for daily but will work, sundown also a little pricey from what i've heard, but great all around woofer.dc great daily woofer that gets very loud too ,good price too,ia dont know cant comment, but have heard good things about them.just my 2 cents

well im tired of the subs ive had lately, i want something louder than my current setup, with really good sq, if id wasnt out of business id probably run idmax's, my first subs i ever had were idw's back in like 1996, and probably the best sub i ever owned

i dont know that i have enough power for xcons, icons seem a little low on the power side, as far as ascendant goes havocs may work good on my amps

Image Dynamics is not out of business. But IDMaxes do not come in 15's, nor do I suspect they fit the criteria you are looking for in your next sub purchase.

Don't let power ratings deter you. If you know what youre doing you can run more than rated as long as you're careful. SSA's are under rated. If you run an xcon you can make the box a little bigger to make up for the lower power. All of ssa's products are designed with sq in mind but they still get pretty darn loud.

You don't have enough power to run any of those.

I would look for a 1000w rating.

Xcon's don't need gobs of power. There are a number of people playing them daily with well less then 1000 watts and loving the performance.
