Best 15" Sub for SQ

I've got a 15" Brahma that I've been running for about six months but I blew the amp that was pushing it and here in Iowa its really hard to find a replacement amp.

I was very happy with the SQ and at the same time it could still get really loud. I'd like a sub is along those same lines but is a little more standard and can be run off more mainstream amps.

I've heard RE is great but I've never heard one in person. I'd love to hear your opinions!

Thanks

I think an FI Q would be a good replacement for a Brahma, you would be very satisfied.

What do you mean by mainstream amps? You could find an amp for your Brahma easily in the for sale section //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well apparently I have a weird Brahma, I've got to bridge it and then it runs at 4 ohms and not of the local stereo places sell amps that put out 800 watts at 4 ohms. At least I think thats what they were telling me.

I know I can get amps online but if something does blow, I don't like driving around without a system for a week.

As for your reccommendations, can someone link me to the suggested subs? I have no idea what a Mag or Treo is and who they're made by...

what is the voice coil configuration on the brahma? is it a dual 2 ohm voice coil? if so then get a amp that puts out power at 1 ohm. Not sure who told you that you need a amp that does 4 ohms only. Is it a single 4 ohm voice coil

I don't understand why you want to ditch a perfectly capable driver because you blew the amp.

Judging by your posts, if you've been told that you have to run it @ 4ohms, then it sounds like you have a dual 2 ohm Brahma, which can also be wired to 1 ohm, and I'm certain you can find a mono amp that'll do 1000 watts rms @ 1ohm, they seem to be pretty common these days.

Well, when I ran the sub the way it was supposed to be setup it only output 3 ohms when it should be outputting closer to 4. Because of that, I think the sub may be bad.

I have yet to hear a better sounding sub then my 15 TC-LMS 4000. Very very accurate and great tonality. Hits every note i throw at it. And also sound amazing on hard rock and double bass. Hits Shadows Fall very nicely.
