bent sub frame? help plz :)

the sealing calk and sealing tape from partsexpress are different items the foam tape would work but imo the calk they have would be better for his needs:)
Waiting on shipping kills though, at least in my opinion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Hence why I also mentioned silicone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. They also sell caulking tape like that by the weather stripping, looks identical actually, just doesn't say it's for "Speakers", so most people probably don't think about using it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

"Strips are self-adhesive so they stick easily to speaker frame. "

Adhesive on one side makes me think it's tape :p. But it's clear you want to win this argument, so OP, go with what pr-festiva recommended. It will add teh dBzzz.

not trying to be a dik but they are different products,,it's up to him which he wants to get im sure he can make any of it work. It's at least better then paper:)

go check the part number if im wrong:)
I did check it, that's what made me realize "Hey, you can use rope caulking and get very similar results :)".

Maybe you typed the wrong part number? But 269-300 links to this :

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=269-300 &FTR=269-300&CFID=6808237&CFTOKEN=38887868

Which, in my opinion, and judging by some of the reviews I read, is just like rope caulk, but apparently a bit tackier. Plus, Rope Caulking has been used and suggested to seal off speakers when mounting on other forums like DIYMA quite a few times before. He wouldn't be the first to use it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

In the end, go with whatever you want OP. Some people feel more comfortable buying something target for speakers instead of using something from a hardware store that's normally used to seal off windows and doors.

I know your not trying to be a dick, and yes, they may be slightly different as far as the chemical makeup of the products. In the end they do the same task though is what I'm getting at.

As seen here, when google image searching "Rope Caulk", this is one of the first images :

Ah, okay then. Now if you woulda said that in the beginning, you woulda saved both me and you a lot of posting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I didn't know if you had tried rope caulk or not, so I was simply recommending a solution that has worked for me in the past.

If he says it works better, then go for it if you can wait on shipping. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Or if you need to order other things from PE. Honestly, I wouldn't place an entire order for . I always do!

havent seen any like it at the home depot or lowes around here just the less sticky white style for windows
Oh, local one here carries a black one that looks just like the pic I posted, called "Rope Caulk" and comes in a red or black box I think. Comes in 1/8" thickness, but also comes in 1/4 I think.

Oh, off topic, but, what sub is that in your avatar PR-Festiva? Looks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif

Haha yeah I got it in earlier this week I think, PE always has some nice things. I'm tempted to attempt that Seismic Sofa build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
