Bench tested Hifonics???

i dont think the brutus line will do rated...but they r great budget amps...not bad for the price i guess..or u can just get a good used amp for same price in our for sale section!!

oh and my bxi1606d has never gotten past slightly warm...even on just stock electrical
They are not that bad and they do work! My only other complaint about them would be that their built-in crossover is fairly crappy. It gets the job done, but turning that knob where you think it should be for the low pass filter versus what you actually get are two different things.

My only recommendation when someone tells me they are going with Hifonics Brutus because of price is for them to get the next model up. Well, that is AFTER they determine how much power they need at a particular impedance.

Will one's ears be able to hear the difference between 800 and 1100 watts? Probably not. If one is competing, then they could be putting themselves at a slight disadvantage if they believe they are getting "rated" power. I don't compete, nor will I ever compete, so that is a moot point.

Me thinks, you have made your peace with them, lol!
We get you don't like them due to the test your buddy did.

They are good budget amps, like you said nothing more, nothing less.

Don't get why you have to keep carrying on about it sounding like a broken record.
Hey, it's Ford302Redneck's lack of knowledge with regards to Ohm's Law that set me off again! Had he kept his dumbass mouth shut, I probably would have not posted in this thread again.

I am sure right..........

Tis whatever mang, but I have seen you mention Hifonics amps when in another thread, when it didn't even need to be brought up.

I have been running Maxxsonic stuff for awhile now and I am not going to get into what they do, what they don't do, because you have beaten the dead horse too much as is.

Thing is, I have had nothing but good luck with all of them, from my MM Autotek, SM1 Autotek, SS Autotek, MBQuart DCS and just ordered a Hifonics BXi 2608d for my two 10's.

Have been pretty faithfull with them over the years and never one problem with them...........even their uber budget amps in the SM1........

I know I could get techincal with you, but no reason. I just think you like to bash because of 1 guys test you saw, comparing a budget amp to other higher end amps........pretty lame if you ask me.

How's your electrical upgrade coming along?

well said

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but I am working on it.

I have ran plenty of Maxxsonics stuff on stock electrical and never had a problem.

Right now I have bought two batteries in an optima Retop group 34/78 for up front and a Powermaster D5100 for in the back with all 0/1g Knu wire and will do the big 3 and if that isn't enough will invest in a new alty.

but anyway........

I had a bxi2000d (supposedly 2000w rms) and swapped it for a lanzar opti2000d, and it was a night and day difference.

Could be because of he regulated power supply of the lanzar, but the hifonics didn't hold a candle to the opti.

The bxi2000d still metered 143dB on a termlab with 2 l7 15's @ 35hz, tho, so it wasn't a complete loss. But you definitely get what you pay for.

I was just asking because a 2608d would be a wee bit excessive for a stock electrical... depending on what you drive.

Dude, I have been doing this since I was 16, so double that.

Me thinks it would be too, which is why I have bought 2 batteries and 0/1g wire and I am sure it still will eventually need a new HO alty, which will ****...........

What puts out more power a 290 dollar 2000 watt brutus amp or a 409 dollar sundown 1200 watt amp? Not knocking either company or amp but for $119 bucks you can't really argue why someone leans towards another. Some a 3 year warranty means a lot with the service others just want an amp. I have seen 3 + year old hifonics amps even in the crunch line still in use today. Its all where the buyer places their value. 1 year warranty vs 3 year. Someone has a 500 or a 600 dollar budget how is it wrong going with the hifonics?
Bingo, thats my thing with Hifonices, best bang for buck and if you know what your doing or you dont push your system that hard you shouldnt need a 3 year warrenty. All of my bigger sub amps have been hifonics and Ill have to say this. For the tank like build on these the 150-200 watts off is a even trade to me.

The first hifonics amp I bought back in 03 was a bx1500d and THOSE things could take a beating, I say those because I went through about 4 of em. Now before you laugh realize this, they all lasted about 4-6 months before they blew out under the following conditions and this was the ONLY time I have had a hifonics get hot on me after I got the wiring right ive never had one get warm on me or go into protect for no reason

1. Dumbasses at the shop wired me up for .6 ohms on a 1 ohm stable

2. I knew NOTHING about car audio so I didnt know that running a amp full tilt while your electricals in the mid 11's was bad for the amp and I had stock electrical with some skorpion 4gauge that wasnt even 4 gauge

3. I was banging EVERYWHERE and I spent alot of time in my car because I didnt have to pay for gas, if it wasnt my parents house or a police station or cop car my radio was all the way up. ( I know typical poster boy for ban car audio, I grew up......a little bit:D)

If I would have known what I know now and had the proper electrical I would be willing to bet that I would still have had that first amp now. Im actually contemplating running my 1608d at .5 ohms but Im still on stock electrical so Im scared.

But what other company in the price range can you abuse for that long, it dosnt even have to do rated power just find me one company you could heavly abuse their amps for 4-6 months at .6ohms because as far as a warrenty goes, who needs it if your doing what your supposed to be doing with said product and it will take that much extra abuse???
