I've had enough of the dimming in my car everytime the sub hits so, I have decided to put another battery in the trunk of my car. Not doing the big 3 cuz it's a pain in the *** to reach anything under the hood of the new volkswagon jettas. I am running about 1600 watts currently and may upgrade to about 2100 later. WHat would be the best battery for my application and how large of one will i need? I tried searching on here but I couldn't find the answers I needed. Will this even help with the dimming in my car? My understanding is that hte amp is pulling to high of a current right now from the battery, so by having another battery in the trunk it would provide the extra current needEd?

im not an expert but dont u need a HO alternator unless ur stock alt is big enough to support that load.
Yeah; you can buy the biggest battery out there but with that much power on a stock alternator you will still get voltage drops.

Your only option to get rid of your problem is to upgrade the alternator, and possibley the battery with it.

should be ok with it adding a battery ..2100 might even be ok as alot of after market ho alts are less powerful than stock alts at idle so you have to mess around with pullies and belts lol

If you don't do the Big 3, Adding a extra battery will not help. You will also need a Isolator to stop the battery from back feeding between each other. Also that many watts on the system can cause a fire without the proper upgrades. See will a HOA fry my cars electrical system!
