So the local audio shop thats doing my install on my car,

I'll be running:

Zapco C2K 9.0X ---> 2 12'' Image Dynamics IDMAX subs

Zapco 750.2 Reference ---> Rainbow CS265 profi phase plug components

Stock alt and electrical.

They think that I should run 2 batteries, atleast 1 in the trunk.

What do you guys think?

And what battery would you recommened?

I'd personally go with the DEKA 9A31. It's an awesome battery...kinda bulky weighing in at 71lbs but it gets the job done and then some. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I heard the 9.0's were power hungry, but I'm not a huge Zapco guy...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Allright, but what would I have to do to avoid giving it gas to play?

TDI's rpms are alot less than that of a gas engine. Redline is 4800 and I usually shift at 1800-2200 rpms lol.

HO alt? I'm kinda strapped for cash at the moment, maybe I can do that next year, I just don't want to put my car in jeporady, as the mk4 vw's are already notorious for their electrical problems.

So say I had 2 batteries in the trunk, I'm leaning towards DEKA 9A31 since it seems like a very reasonable battery for the price. Would that mean that it would draw from the batteries in my trunk before drawing from the battery that powers the rest of my car (basically putting more stress on it?)

Yes. Just make your power wire from the + terminal on the battery to the + on the amp as short as possible, as well as your grounds, and you should be A ok. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

With a factory alt you won't have to rev...most factory alts break field at super low rpm.

and yes you'll need AT LEAST one extra battery for that 9.0...they are capable of doing 2800watts+ and are fully regulated so no matter how low the voltage is they are going to try to pull the current to do that power

How long have you guys had your deka's?

A recent google search on them has left me skeptical, as their lifetime sucks apparently.

Fleetes of buses were using them in the city and stoped because they only lasted 10-12 months.

Thinking maybe more towards odyssey or kinetic,

I live where it gets really cold so I don't want a battery that will shit on me after a few months,.
