Battery Question...

I seriously doubt any company is going to build an amp to handle 24 volts. The only reason someone would even run 16 volts is for serious competitions, and the limit for comps is 17 volts. 16 volts on a cars electrical system will do the same thing 24 volts will, fry your computer and everything else in the path. If your planning on a 16 volt system you better make sure your amps will handle it too, most amps can not. You can run a second alt to power a 16 volt system, but you have to make sure no part of this system is connected to the cars electrical system.

Ok... B/c I ordered an Iraggi 300A ... to be a seperate alt. for system only.

My setup will consist of:

(4) HK4000sx - they have rated power @ 16v-17v

(8) HK12x2

(4) Kinetic HC2400s

(2) Xstatic BatCaps 800s - now banned..... ( Oh well for that )

Vehicle: '91 4-Runner

Walled, tuned @ 45hz or 46hz

I just was wondering... I knew it would fry my electrical, its a 12v car. ( Nissan Sentra )

... I was interested in other opinions other than mine on the Voltage situation.

As far as me not knowing my stuff, GMC.....

... Believe me, I wouldnt be in this business if I didn't. I don't like to waste my time on thing I don't know.

*** You are right though on one thing ****

... As of now, NO! I don't have a seperated alt. on my car... Cause it hasn't come in yet.

BUT TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED....

Thanks alot... Be lookin' out for me. I shooting for low to mid 50s first comp.

If you knew your stuff you wouldn't have even asked the question in the first place! And did you build a dual alt bracket cause I don't hink Dom makes one yet for a 4-runner?

Guru...

I don't wanna over do it (my hopes that is)...

... But I will love for that to happen also.

Audioarsonal....

My uncle is a welder, and he's gonna fab me a bracket for them. And just cause you know things... Doesn't mean you don't/not suppose to reassure yourself...

HK4000sx ( three 0's )....

sx = Digital....

Funny, I looked at the MA site and can't see any 4000sx model, just the HK4000D, which they list as digital.

It's the same thing...HK4000D/HK4000SX ...

... I just say SX cause that's universal for Digital.
They don't make a 4000sx only 4000D.And in your sig it says 401sx.These are the HC line which consist of hk401sx,hk601sx,hk801sx.That is different then the digital line which aren't stable down to 1/2ohm without modification.

And SX isn't universal for digital...sorry.

Soo.. MA & Kicker just decided to have the same Pre/Suffix then?????

... OK.

So far as MA amp lines go.. I know the difference.

.. And ALSO!

... as far as the digital ( sx ) lines not being stable @ 1/2ohm... You're wrong on that buddy. They are...

----> ampguts.realmofexcursion.com

I know they only make the 4000d.. I just say 4000sx ( Which I clearly stated ).

... AS FAR AS MY SIG! - The HK401sx is my current amp. Which is 1800rms @ .5ohm.

The 4000D can run @ .5ohm with 15v - 17v MAX goin' to it. ( trust )
