Battery or no Battery, cap or no cap

So i posted this before but got no response. In a few days i am going to be installing a 1000 watt rms system in my stock civic which only has 70 amp alternator. So originally the plan was to buy myself a 1 farad rockford cap to help with the inevitable light diming, but do you think it would be a good idea to upgrade my stock battery with a yellow top optima? I have a guy who is willing to sell one to me for $100 shipped.

Battery > Cap

If you still have problems add a battery in the back.

Caps are a waste of money just look into doing the big 3 wiring upgrade and yes buy the optima battery for under the hood.

do the "Big 3", do not add a cap. Your stock battery might be ok, but $100 shipped is a good deal for a good Optima. Put the yellow top in the trunk. run 1/0 wire to the yellowtop

Buy the yellow top and then buy a small battery for the back like a Kinetik HC600. That would be great right there.

Thanks for the tips guys. Think i should invest in 1/0 gauge wire or 4 gauge wire for the big 3? Only reason why i am more inclined to go with the 4 gauge is because i work at best buy and get that stuff hella cheap.

4ga is fine for 1000rms. Always to go bigger in case of future upgrades though.

I like how best buy and possibility of a cap happened to all come up in the same string!!!!!
