Battery keeps draining.

To start, I have a planet audio ac5000.1d 2 American bass xfls a pioneer touchscreen HU and a second battery in the back. I bought the second battery about a week ago and had it installed. Just recently my car was off while at work and went to go start it up and the battery died. The battery is original and I have a 2007 fusion. The battery continues to die if the amps power wire is connected. I went to the audio shop and they said I probably need a new front battery. The system ran just fine until the second battery. Just looking for some opinions, don't want to spend money on a new battery if that's not the problem. Thank you.

Take the battery out and get it checked..Its FREE at most auto parts stores.Battery is 6 yrs old going on 7.Hopefully it hasn't damaged your new rear battery

Are the two batteries connected directly to each other or isolated?

Pretty sure they are connected to each other, he has power wire from front connected to back battery, the back battery connected to the amp and then has it grounded.

Sounds like they are fighting each other, I try and get batteries that are all the same age, brand, Ect..

Install a battery isolator and problem solved.

disconnect batteries and make sure there is no continuity with ground on the power wire. may not be a dead short but enough to draw the batteries dead.
