I have a 27ft cruiser with no generator (ported box with 2 JL 12w3's in the spot). Boat is usually parked long periods of time without the engine running. The current battery system is dual battery. I'll be pulling lots of power to a Alpine CDA 9833 HU, JL 500.1, & Profile CL 440 to four Alpine 6.5's. Are there better deep cycle batteries than others? Should I also consider a larger altenator? Thanks in advance for the help.

You could go for something like solar power but otherwise a beasty alternator would be needed (100amp or approx.). For batteries, ive heard the Optima yellow top(deep cycle) ones are pretty good, should be good for most things, and have some good crankin power.. they are better than most other batteries, in its group. Thers also the red-top which are the next step up. Would be perfect in your situation ya cant go wrong.

But yea thast mi suggestion... all the best.

i forget the name of the company, but you can enter a search for a battery tender, or go to pepboys and ask someone to point you in the direction for them

all you do is run an extension cord to the boat and then to the battery tender, and plug it in and make the connections, and it will charge the battery to it's peak and then cycle a bit, and then it will be on a float charge where it feeds just a small amount of electricity to the battery to keep it fresh

just to help you out more and cause i was bored... here is the link Battery Tender

i got the battery tender plus for my atv.... it sits out in a shed for the most part and requires the battery to start(no kick or pull start) so i had to get a new battery when i got it (used) and to be smart so i'm not stranded somewhere with no way to start it i got the battery tender so it is always ready when i need it and don't have to worry about it bein charged. also it will make the battery last longer as it won't be deep cycled so often

with that as long as your current battery is good, you won't need to buy one, but if you want to be extra safe get a optima blue top since it is for marine applications along with this to keep your new battery in top condition
