Battery decision Help, running about 2k watts or so

Im going to be running about 2k watts or so in my new system that I am putting together now, give or take a few hundred watts, Im going to do the big 3 with 1/0 awg wire, and Im installing a HO alt at 160amps of power.

It seems to me that Kinetic are much more bang for the buck type batteries. For instance

HC 600: $103.98 SHIPPED which is 850 Amps of power:

Im thinking about going for the:

Kinetic HC 1400: ABout $183 shipped, for 1500 amps of power:

------------------------------------

As I said im going to be running the big 3, and with a 160amp alternator, Im going to keep my stock battery, and throw the new battery that I buy in the trunk, and connect that with the stock battery, that way im charging both at the same time. Which do you recommend? Im going to sleep now, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

you'd prolly be alright with just the 1400,btlking is just an ******* that loves to shit on everybodies threads //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
no im not and ******* but if you get the 2400 you will have room to improve your setup later without the need of another new battery

From the kitentik website:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------What size of Kinetik Power Cell do I need for my vehicle?

When used as a supplemental power source, we recommend the HC600 or the HC800. For all other applications, add up the total wattage of all amplifiers and aftermarket equipment in the vehicle and add 1000 when replacing your existing "wet cell" starting battery or 500 if your are retaining it. Match and combine the Kinetik HC model number ratings of the power cells to reach your goal. You may require more than one Kinetik Power Cell for your system.
2000rms+1000=3000

They would reccomend more than just the hc2400.

he is adding this too the back. 2000 watts = kinetik hc2000 if he is going bigger a 2400 would be best to start with. if he goes bigger yet swap out the car's starter battery with an hc1800 which would be good combined with the 2400 and subtract what the car needs would equal 3200 watts for the system. SIZE of the batteries matters as if its too small the batteries will get hot and vent (reguardless of brand). bat cap 8400 wouldnt be too good on a daily driver imo they are made up of a bunch of smaller 2v cells.

amps of power are only good for short bursts. over time the battery will become drained (if you listen to it loud all the time) and will eventually run down. the more capacity you have the more power over time you will have. if the battery gets run down too far like i said in previous post it will heat up and vent or simply die. ALSO if you run too small of batteries and they go nearly dead a few times it isnt too healthy on the alt.

yeah even though kinetic "recommended" the 2400, thats just an advertisement for you to buy their higher end stuff.

I would be running a 15 inch L7, and about 220 watt rms comps, and rear under HU power...

Maybe I will go with the extra power...

if you go too small you will cook the battery reguardless if its kinetik or not. there isnt anything more higher end between a 600 and a 2400 other than what it is used for. not picking on you but that is like saying why do i need a 200 amp alt if i can get a 120 for half as much....
