i want to put a second battery in my car and space isnt an issue cause my first ones stock in the trunk. what model kinetik battery should i go with if im planning on running around 2000 rms in the future? and also is an isolator needed? ive heard many opposing opinions on this..

Can i just go with their biggest one the 2400? and use it as my strating battery also? and can you overdo how big it is or can i just use the biggest one they have like i said, alnog with my stock one?

wouuld i be good leaving my stock battery and running the kinetik in parrelel to it? or should i just use one real big kinnetik for audio and starting? and what about the isolator thing use one or not?

I've heard unless both batteries are the same, an isolator should be used. Otherwise, the batteries will suffer from premature failure. That's just what I've heard, I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone else has anything else to add to it because I've got a second battery and I'm debating on how to hook it up.

I'm also going to watch this thread and see what comes up, because I'd also like to connect two different batteries, but the larger one idles at 10.4v

Shitt ha everyone either seems to not know what to do about this isolator deal and the rest of the crowd is split. Someone has to have some input on this for all our sakes!

Exactly. Some swear by isolators and point out the cons of not using one, while others say that they haven't had any problems without one. I'm just not sure what the best way to do this is.

Deka Intimadator 9A31
Hmmm...interesting. Checked them out. Sounds like a good choice.

I guess I would chime in by asking, Kinetik, Optima, Deka, Batcap...what is the best choice if you are only running ONE battery and therefore you want starting power AND the ability to handle the big bass hits? Is one better than the other?

I'd prefer to hear input from those who have experience with the battery they support. jdawg, I'm assuming the Deka is what you use? Pros? Cons?

These are pretty cheap.. If I go with the deka over the kinetik 2400 should I get more then one deka? Maybe swap out my current stock starting battery put one of these in and a second?

You do not need an isolator although it can prolong battery life if used correctly. For 2000 watts you can use 1400 on up anything over a hc2000 would be overkill imo. How big is your stock alt? I had my 1400 under the hood of my truck for over 4 years with 0 complaints.

I'm not sure how big my alt is because I read somewhere that it was like 130 but there's no way in hell considering it's in a 4 cyl Saturn ion
