battery/alt question

Alright i have a 04 honda civic and about three months ago i had a professional installer install my JL 250/1 and Diamond Audio D6. About a week ago, when i was leaving work, i noticed that my headlights were dimming. I turned off my subwoofer and drove home without it. I left later that night and turned my sub on, and my lights did not dim. Earlier today, i noticed that my lights had begun to dim again, so i called a friend who worked for bazooka, and he told me to buy a battery charger and fully charge my battery every once in a while. Would this solution be adequate for my problem, or would upgrading my alternator and/or battery be a better choice. I have a tight budget by the way.

a 250/1 should not be dimming headlights.

Charge your battery, or get (optima, its the best) a new battery.

Charge first before you spend more money though, so you can find out what the problem is.

Autozome Checks voltage and runs battery tests for free, they also charge batteries, but I'm not sure if it's free or not.

Do the big 3 upgrade; it should resolve your issue. I see this is your first post so basically, this entails upgrading the wires (1) from your engine block (ground for your alternator) to the chassis, (2) from your alternator's positive output post to the positive battery terminal (fuse it) and (3) your chassis to your negative battery terminal. If that doesn't make sense look it up, there are millions of threads about it.
