Basic Question

ok so I recently purchased a 1999 bmw 528i and I was looking in the trunk where the 6 disc cd player is located. I am highly considering putting a 12" alpine type R in the trunk but I was looking at the wiring for it, and I came across some stuff that I wasn't sure what it was... Here are the pics... I know that the cd changer is on the bottom but I'm not sure what is attatched behind it or the little box to the right... any help is appreciated.. thanks (sorry for the blurry pics)

ok so if I were to buy an amp to power the sub I'd have to add it in addition to this one? or could it just replace it? thanks...

To power a sub, yes in addition to the stock amp.

That all depends, are you going to get an aftermarket radio, or keep the stock one? if you going to go all aftermarket then i recommend you bypass that factory amp and get a new one, if you are going to use the factory radio(which i dont recommend) you will need to get a Line level converter (part # P50a) and tie into that factory amp to power your aftermarket amp, let me know how it goes.
