Bandpass VS Ported Boxes

If you've got 2 10" Type-R subs and you want to get them to hit harder would you go with a ported box or a bandpass box?? If ported, how many cubic feet??

Ported. Whats the recommended size for a ported box on your spec sheet? Probably something around 1.25-1.75 cu.ft / sub. Try to stay away from bandpass, as the boxes have to be built specifically to the subs specs and they arent forgiving if you are just a small amount off with your measurements.

as my understanding went, a bandpass will hit slightly harder than a ported(if made correctly) but will sound like a one note system. am i wrong?

Your right....the bandpass box will hit and sound like one frequency continously - unless of course the box is made absolutley perfect. I have seen many bandpass boxes struggle at certain frequencies - sounds like crap, almost like the woofers are seized.

ported, bandpass ****(trust me, i had one)

unless the bandpass is spacifically made for your subs
