I have some Earthquake 12" in a bandpass box....*sounds like s#it* in my SUV. I was wondering if it was better to swap out to ported for more hit instead of that droning sound i get from bandpass?. Im pushing the subs with an old Earthquake amp.....the PA2150.........700x1, or 350 x 2. Its about 12 years old and still knockin. any feedback is well appreciated:fro:

It looks like ported is the way to go!...........As for CJL...yes the 12" subs came with the bandpass box. Earthquake of San Francisco to be exact. They sound ok but not tight and reponsive. Kind of a droning sound.

Bandpass designs generally sound that way. They are designed to achieve more output - period. If you decide to go with a bass replex design, expect a decrease in output. If you're comfortable with that, then go for it.

Best,

Mark
