Why do you only want your subs to play 1 octave? Even if you have midbass capable of running down to 40hz, its not really necessary. Most SQ nuts dont even go below 50hz for LP.

If you are planning on using a sealed box, you'll probably want to choose a driver that will yield a rather low anechoic F3 (lower than 40Hz) in a moderate sized sealed enclosure. Such designs usually feature a mid to high Qes/Qts and low EBP. They will also have a low SPL/sensitivity rating (per watt of input power) but they make up for that loss in greatly increased low-end sensitivity and extension.
As mentioned, the Alpine Type-X is a good candidate, as is the new ED Av.2.
