Back WindShield Speaker Deck -Suggestions

I have a 2000 maxima, what speaker size is the best to get loud clear voice output, i have a Kicker L7 in the trunk and have an Infinity Kappa comp set. my main amp is the Fosgat 450.4 and have a Brutus 1608d drivin my L7.

how many speakers should i put in the rear deck and what size, my goal is to raise the vocal volume. or the music in genral bass is not my concern L7 is good enough

You could probably do 6x9's in the rear deck. But, the more important question is, are you giving your components enough power? Seems to me that you shouldn't need more "vocals" unless you don't have enough balance between subs and speakers. Maybe it is time for an upgrade to better components?

Replacing rear speakers aren't going to solve a "vocals" problem and I'm not a big fan of them other than some sound for back seat passengers...if they need it hehehe.

You don't say what the Kappa's are...if they are the 5 1/4's you aren't going to get a lot of vocals...mid range out of them...they are also of modest quality...not saying they are not a good speaker but perhaps not capable of playing loud enough.

The amp also pushes 60 watts rms which is decent power but will not play "loud" with good clarity.

Are you running the fronts and rears off the amp? Something you could try is to run the front mids off the front channel and the tweets off the rear channel...I suppose you could also bridge the amp to the fronts significantly increasing power and "loudness" but perhaps at some cost of clarity.

By running rear speakers as part of the standard sound you do move the sound stage/imaging from the front...where it should be...but that is the choice of the owner.

You don't mention the head unit either. Its' tuneability could also be causing some of your problems...or preventing your desired effect.

More info is definately needed.

Amp power could be part of the problem. My little Memphis puts out 75w rms per channel and my JL's mids can struggle...falter...in the mids when the windows are open and I have it too loud. Cruising in the country...no one around...with the windows down and the stereo cranking is great...the wife and I love it.

Don't cut your rear deck to fit 6x9's. Invest that money and upgrade your front stage.

RMS Power at 2 Ohms 110 W x 4)

i really forgot which infinity kappa i bought i know its was a component set and 2 more for the back.

ive seen systems that you can hear it really loud from the outside. lets say i were to scrap what i have what are the loudest component and back speaker sets i can get, money is not an issue, and should i go with the fosgate 850.4?

Why would you get less vocals out of a 5.25? I could see a midbass argument, but vocals?

Spend your time and money treating the doors, do not worry about your rear speakers at best they should be courtesy speakers for backs seat passengers.

Sort of a half assed apology that they didn't get to ride up front.
