B&w Vs Svs

I hope you are joking.
well right now it does 126 dbs at 18 hertz I double everything so once I get everything together I should be around 132 in theory and I will be changing to better drivers and more power amps. 140db Might not happen but around 136 or so will about this time next year.

So lets compare apples to apples then if you where saying that the dayton has less distortion then the tc sub which has been test at ouput levels over 110 dbs where is the graph for the dayton at those kind of output levels? 100 dbs for bass wont make you go deaf.... or else 99% of the car audio people here would be deaf, cause most have systems in their car that are capable of 140db+ and my home audio system is capable of 126 dbs at 18 hertz and it isnt "enough" which is why i doubled everything.. I hope to one day be in the 140db range in my ht //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

squeak thanks for explaining it to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
You need to start reading my posts as a whole and in context, instead of jumping to conclusions after one comment. I said 100db full range. Your hearing sensitivity at low frequencies is much much lower (why you don't get hearing loss as easy down low)...this is where the sound engineer comes in. When he's mixing music, he'll compensate by adding more sound energy in that bandwidth (ie the recording will including higher SPLs at those frequencies if its what the artist intended). If you significantly boost that region you get all sorts of problems when transitioning from bass to the midrange. For a sound quality oriented system, everything has to be balanced. A flat frequency response is desirable (+/-3dB, maybe slightly higher deviations but not much) for balance. If its 100dB at 80hz then it should be 100dB at 4khz (where you'll get hearing damage)

You are the loser, you're posting objective data and yet you don't know how to interpret it. How is that any use to you, and what are you proving? Your previous example (lower end B&W vs SVS) failed...so you bring up another example (higher end B&W vs SVS). What is your goal for this thread? Nobody really cares which brand you prefer...we're not all fan boys. If we were in the market for a driver, we'll choose the higher performing one...we don't need you to tell us that. You cannot generalize this broadly (B&W vs SVS).
I posted so people can judge for THEMSELF'S...

You might not, but someone else browsing might, forget what I say forget what you say just let the person look at the data and let them decide....

DATA>OPINION

Plenty of data for both the svs and b&w on both links I posted hell ill even post them again.

Home audio is not about achieving the highest sound pressure level possible, its about achieving the highest possible sound quality. If somebody wants loud, they shouldn't compromise everything else to achieve that goal. if you want to throw out numbers we'll need a lot more. Whats the distribution of energy in the room like? How long does it take for the sound to decay? Do you have any idea?

That data was already posted on AVS, why post it again? why don't you go post in the thread that was dedicated to those specific drivers? It doesn't seem like you have really any point posting in this thread other than mocking the B&W fanboys. Theres a reason "VS" threads aren't wanted, they don't really add anything.

What a joke YOU are trying to tell ME what I want //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

umm looks up at lcd screen ummm this isnt avs this is CAR AUDIO FORUM and the ONLY HT section. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

Someone just needs to lock this thread...

1loudsuv you are just an idiot and don't really have a clue about home audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

This has gone on long enough and it is going absolutely no where...

Yes we all know someone who doesnt own a single thing that he built in his ht knows more then someone who has. Wait but in theory he knows more cause the graph said so:laugh: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Your just mad cause B&W bent you over and didnt use any lubricant when you paid all that money for the overpriced speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

my second comparison proves that B&W is over priced, a $1499 svs subwoofer outperformed a B&W $3000 in every aspect from THD at all levels and frequencies and output and time delay and power compression. This thread is not about dayton or tc sounds or flying pigs it was made to compare SVS and B&W only. Or else I would of asked which subs are best but I didn't ask I just provided data that anyone can acess and come up with what they think

Here they are again... and this was even asked by jotemaa of a review of the b&w asw 850 which I found.

I can't believe this thing is still going.
