Aux batt: Kinetik HC800 or Duralast Gold 825A batt?

brand new check out the link search it they were around 125 shipped
Where can I get them at that price? I will buy one tonight if I can get them that cheap. All I see is $240 for the SPV70. Will that support my lets say 280A draw at full tilt?

you wont be drawing that much, how many watts u gonna give that 15, and for your amp for your highs wont even pull hardly anything from your electrical

My sub amp will be a GP3000D PRO so 3000wrms @ 1 ohm, and my mid/high amp is a JBL Px350 123wrms x 4 @ 4 ohm. So my calculation at full tilt is 370A with 70% efficiency factored in. But of course that amplifier will probably only be driven to 3/4 of its capabilities. So im guessing around 280A draw when I really wanna crank it up which is not that often.

that sub is rated at 1krms even if u give it 2k watts only gonna be drawing around 200amps. basically

you are over thinking it, with a 250amp alt or w/e you are getting battery upfront, and nice battery in the back spv70 or something with big 3 done in 1/0 and run of 1/0 to the back and nice solid ground or seperate run of 1/0 to the back for a ground as well you will be fine

Ahh there is no more I believe. Well if there is no more I guess i will pay 230 shipped for a new one. Would that be ok everyone? SPV70 on my 280A of draw at full tilt?

I think the Deka 31 will do it for me since I already have 2 Stinger dual 1/0 ring terminals for 5/16" stud and I dont want to have to let these pretty terminals go to waste. $216 shipped to my door is a steal for a group 31, thanks for the find AudioLife!

Make sure you report back with your findings when you get a battery. That Deka is a good deal for a G31 battery.

I read some things about the deka 31 batts, I heard they arent very reliable?

Well between a Kinetik HC1800, Stinger SPV70, Deka 9A31; Which is the most reliable battery? They are all in my price range (under $240). While the Kinetik and Stinger(with modification) will fit under my hood when I decide to upgrade my stock location batt to one identical to the rear batt. And a plus is that the Stinger batt comes with a metal case, thats a good thing because I will be mounting this underneath my truck (its a lifted 4wd) so im leaning towards the stinger because of the added protection.

Whats the consequences when mixing wet cell and dry cell batts together? As long as the dry cell I buy will not be damaged im cool, I couldnt care less if it damages the wetcell.

I haven't heard of Deka batteries as unreliable before. That would be something new to me. I have heard nothing but praise from those who have bought them. I have never personally ran them, but others like them well, so I usually recommend them due to their great value.

As for the other, I personally run a Kinetik, so I would always recommend them since I know first hand that they work well. I don't think you could go wrong with most of the well known brands. I think if you have a reason to buy the Stinger, go for it.

As for the "dry cell" stuff, all of the AGM batteries are really still wet cells. They still are lead acid batteries, which are all wet cells. A true dry cell battery would be like an alkaline or NiCD battery. They don't use a fluid based electrolyte like car batteries do.

As for mixing flooded and AGM batteries, it would likely drain the AGM battery and drastically reduce the life of the AGM as well. Since flooded batteries rest at 12.6V and AGM batteries are usually 13.0V, the flooded cell will drain the AGM until it matches the 12.6V of the flooded battery.

You can avoid this by using a battery isolator. I highly recommend using a diode based isolator. Good quality diode based units today have much lower resistance than older models that dropped your voltage by 1/2 volt.
