Running a secondary box for SPL aside from my Quasi 6th order.

I am not concerned so much about actually hitting low notes, just having an impressive SPL without damaging the Sub.

Enclosure built is 1.5ft^3 tuned to 40hz (6" flared aeroport)

Audiopipe 1800.1D at 1ohm

I have read tons of people who say its SPL easily surpasses 35hz tuning, and a few people who also said it will blow the subwoofer. Can anyone give me some input and tell me if it would actually damage the woofer? maybe personal experience?

I do play A lot of rap. However I do not run around repeating "white girl" USDA, lol...

Any input would be sweet! thanks!

Tuning to 40hz will not damage your speaker as long as you have a variable subsonic filter. I'm assuming people are saying that because amps that have a standard 20hz subsonic filter will not provide enough protection when you start turning up the volume. With that tuning, and depending on power, your subsonic should be set somewhere between 30-35hz; lower power equals lower subsonic.
