Holy fack......there is so much fail in this thread about clean/dirty power. There is clean/dirty signal not power. Power is power.....next thing will be people stating that walmart batteries produce dirty power and XS has clean power, or mechman does dirty power, and excessive amperage does clean. From some people who I thought knew a thing or two as well. Sad really.

It's called saving up what most of us do what do when we want something bad enough like I said most people don't give a crap about signal if they have all the power and it doesn't blow their system if the dang 1500.1 AP clips so **** bad and is so dirty off 1500rms how did I run it daily no problem and how do other people?

Yeah but theres scales of clipping and different types. The AP does not put out such a dirty clipped signal that it would blow a subwoofer tune off 1.5k. I ******* ran this thing daily off .5 ohms over 1500rms in someones trailblazer i have a **** video of it. and it slammed for like 2 months before I sold it to him, he still runs it to this day. How stupid can you be? Yeah you can probably notice some distortion and it might not sound as "clean" but you're not going to blow a woofer off one unless you **** bottom line. The whole dirty/clean price/performance **** is stupid. I DONT LIKE THE AP1500.1D but I respect it for what it does and at the price it does it. If you don't understand that then I dont give a **** because you're a ******* moron.

I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this....

Audipipes problem is not clipping, it's the harmonic distortion it gives off into the speakers along with the amplified signal. It colors the sound immensely. Now to get even close to rated power you will have to over drive the amp into higher distortion and probably introduce clipping.

I agree, but my AP1500.1D didn't clip badly if any at all when I ran it off 1500RMS. It wasn't doing rated regaurdless because I wasn't holding 14.4v constant and I had like rise to like 1.5 ohm but I got **** close to running 1500rms out of it. Then when we dropped it to .5 ohm I noticed it was a little more sloppy and the voltage dropped a lot more but it was still feasable off a 1kw "******" AQ subwoofer.

Yeah I do kind of have a messed up head maybe that's why I don't agree with you guys... Im not sure. I'm not gonna argue now I am the type of person that would PROBABLY prefer the Discuss because I'm that deep into audio but before I had my DC and did more research and testing I would have never known the difference between the 2 honestly. My voltage drops just as bad with my DC maybe a little less and its not a WHOLE LOT cleaner and this is a **** DC amplifier. But at the end of the day m equipmeny stays reliable, cold and clean so I paid more for that. I just don't know anyone who has blown subs off an AP1500.1D that wasnt a noob.

Anyways you can all have fun I've given enough entertainment at the end of the day opinions are like assholes this site has too many of them.

The signal coming through the RCA's and the output going to the subs is no different. They are both AC, one is simply more powerful than the other. The reason you don't hear about batteries or alternators putting out "dirty" power is because they are direct current and you don't get clipping from DC current. DC is like binary, it's either on or off. There is no clipping involved.

distortion is clipping doesn't mean the entire sound wave is could very mild but as u increase in gain or volume what was mildly clipped will turn into fully clipped square waves but we are on the same page because basically that's what u just said

If you are refering to me with our post then you should understand that I'm trying to word things for them to understand. I could break down your comment much further but I'm watching the fights and posting from my phone. Lol so for wveryone else.. continue on fighting about cheap amps most of us will not ever use.

Also... someone want to send me an Ap1500, so i can do a bench on it, with vid, and put this whole god dam argument to rest??? i mean, jesus, this is getting old. i know dustin has also offered the same thing... so who wants to give up their AP for a week, so we can close the case on this once and for all?

Some of the sorta loud cars run ap. Not the loudest. Hate to burst that bubble.

Not to mention the ones that use ap in the lanes are running with a clipped signal and only for a burp or so. Those cars would do better with different amps though.

I will see if I can dig out my ap1500 over the weekend. It is tucked away in storage but if I can get it out I will see about running some tests with video this time I guess. All though even with video the nuthuggers will still claim foul some how. They always do which is why most of my test are for me and/or a company.
