Did a side-to-side comparison of an AP1500.D and an ONX1.1500D, both amps in a comparable price range. The MBQ was FAR more efficient than the AP. On full tilt the voltage dropped to 12.2 with the AP, while the MBQ never dipped below 13.0

The kicker is this though, the AP was DMM tuned, and the MBQ had gains maxed.

How are prices comparable? You can get a new AP1500.1D for about $140 while the Discuss and Onyx are like $180... That's a big price gap imo. I hate AP amplifiers too but to say that the Onyx is that much better is horseraddish. I ran an AP1500.1D on completely stock electrical 90a alternator and never dropped below 13v for the most part. I find it hard to believe you maxed out an onyx and didnt have massive voltage drop they arent that efficient and clean.

Way more efficient and clean than AP junk. If you think $30 is a big price gap you should see the price gap between your junk AP and my 6 channel.

I'm not the only one who saw it, and the ONYX is 170, it's thirty dollars, it's a 4 hour shift at a minimum wage job, not a big difference.

Doesn't matter how big YOU think the difference is $30-40 is a big difference in car audio, I don't care WHO saw it do you have videos? because I don't believe you cranked out a DSC1500.1D or ONYX on stock electrical and didnt see below 13v. Also my POS amplifier Dragon? I run a DC 2.0K well soon to be running one, what are you trying to prove here? my amplifier shits all over both of these amplifiers lol.

Point is between budget amps $30 is not a lot no matter how you chalk it up. When you go from junk AP to MB Quart there is a quality difference to definitely warrant a $30 price gap.

I've never used MBQuart monoblocks so I cannot speak from experience but I hardly doubt the difference is worth of the $30-40 extra you buy a budget for that THAT reason, you're on a budget... So to someone that $30 could be the extra money for wiring or a box IMO it makes a difference. Better comparison would be the AP1800.1D vs MBQuart 1500.1 Discuss since they're in the same price range. Even if it's this guy is deffinatly over-exaggerating. Anyone who thinks he cranked out a Onyx like that on stock electrical and didnt see below 13v is dumb lol.
