Yeah, 55 would be way too high...lol I use 46. You were probably experiencing the head unit's signal clipping.

My bud just ordered one of these amps, pretty excited to get it set up.

I finally pulled the trigger on this amp last weekend, it seems like a fun toy that isn't too expensive. From the reports, it's hard to break (with proper electrical), so I'll be taking apart and "playing with it" (giggity?).

The shipping time is a little slow, and they don't send email receipts. It was 1 week for delivery (unless you're in the midwest), but CarAudioDeals is definitely legit. They do accept Paypal, for us cautious buyers.

I will try to borrow someone's digital cam today cuz the cell just doesn't pick up flex well. I'm glad alot of you guys are buying this amp, its great. It will be awesome when someone gets some proper testing done on it.

Yeah if I didn't pick up this Soundown I would definitely have picked up on the AP1500D. That $144 price tag is so very nice.

Refurbs are just as good as new, maybe even better.

I don't know about the refurb thing. I got mine and it came bnib. I guess they could make it look factory, but I honestly doubt that site could do that without getting into trouble. Cuz wouldn't they have to tell the buyer something like that? Anyways, is there like a serial number somewhere that I could use to look up to see if it came new from the factory, or something like a carfax for amps, lol.

Black, why is there a difference. The pic on the site shows silver, but when it got here it was black.
