It's a good amp if you want big power, but not the price that comes along with it. I've seen many of these installed, and no problem except for 1 person who ran it at 1 ohm without sufficient electrical. They are nice for the price. If you have the money, I would get a higher quality amp. But if this fits your budget, i would get it. I'm actually thinking about getting one myself.

db-r i respect where you are comming from because it is hurting ur business becuase people are buying amps instead of having theres fixed. to think about it have a 3k fixed or order a new 3 for $150 more than a repair bill.

i have yet to a audiopipe amp dieing i installed and i have been selling them for yrs. if it's made in korea or china i dont car its over seas none the less. made in the usa dose matter. audiopipe also isnt into overcharging like another co with the same board.

power is getting cheaper all the time. manufactures need to sell quanity make $50 profit a amp vrs sell a few @$400 profit.

Other companies are not using the same board as the Audiopipe amp. Not that I have seen. It's an updated version of the Massvie Audio garbage that was spewed across the car audio world a couple years ago. Ultra-cheap power.

It's not hurting my business, in 6 months to a year after all these people have got these AudioPipe amps and they start breaking they are gonna want them fixed. I really don't want to work on them, but I may if I feel like it. Get one thing straight. I have more business here than I can deal with. I have been referring it away to other shops and individuals and now they too are full-up, cannot take in anymore work.

I actually care about the quality of this stuff. If I plan on staying in this business I will have to work on it 10 years from now because some guy will be calling his AudioPipe 3000 an Old-School amp.... LOL.... And he will want it repaired for "old-times sake".

Local shops vs Internet is true, killing the car audio business, no, changing it, yes. It will eventually come full circle again, just a matter of time. There were car stereo amps way back in the day and then there were better ones and the better ones got more popular and took all the business away from the cheap-*** products and everyone wanted name-brand.... it will happen over and over, it's a cycle.

I suspect some good US companies will pop into the game and hopefully stay a while making car audio products. People will eventually get tired of all the foreign crap.

Can they be strapped with a Maxlink???

any 2 amps that are exactly the same can be straped with a maxxlink regardless of ohm load, each amp still sees the 2 ohm load, it just links them together for 1 control and input and couples the power out put.

the same boards that are in alot of higher priced forum boner amps are in alot of the brutus amps and i would put $$ on the outcome of anyone elses 10kw amp vs hifonics 10kw amp. and when is the last time you saw an AP amp break a world record? hmm the crunch gp3000 has done it over 20 times that i know of and 4 times was all 1 install at 2007 world finals in 4 different classes! all hifonics subs and 6 crunch amps....... hmmmmmmmmm now what? ask db-r he repairs amps for a living, he will tell you what boards are what, and even he says the AP is pure junk!

yes that is funny no ap but u back crunch. every brand has had there problems just a matter of time,crunch has already had theres. i would say maybe half the maxxsonics amp make rated power and those are the higher end amps. maxxsonics also supports alot of competition cars and that IS COOL.

audiopipe had the 3001 and 6001 which were korea made amps.

i have customers running the ap series of amp for almost 3yrs now no returns.

db-r i am sure u will be fix them from time to time.

I have never heard of the first ap breaking! there is several threads of crunch amps breaking. Hmmmm?

the new model gp3000 wont break, they saw the issue with the spring clips and totally redesigned the entire amp. anytime you are pushing 5kw out of an amp it is a bad idea to have it on the enclosure which is how most of them break.

as far as reliability the only amps I have ever sent back ( 3 in the last 2 years out of 1000's I have sold) all 3 were abused or mounted on the enclosure.

dextermoped is local to me and after he heard my wifes hifonics powered minivan with a setup that is well over 3 yrs old he was hooked as well. Regardless of what the haters say, the amp and subs are very reliable, and do rated power all day long with good stable electrical just like any other good amp will do. and their subs will definately take at least 25-50% or more than they are rated at. my wifes minvan has 2 12's getting 1000 rms each and they are rated at 600 rms hmmmmm still pounding hard and clean too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lower end hifonics dont make rated power in 08 there has been mannny tests.

they are all rated at 14 volts and at 14 volts they do rated all day long, the 06 line however did not and the new 10 line is at and above rated so...... they are making changes at least.

besides we are not talking a 3 yr old amp line vs the new ap amp. we were talking crunch 3000 pro vs the ap. the crunch will make way more power ( 2970 watts at 11 volt!! proven and tested many times by professionals! ) than the ap will ever dream of and it also has a shitload less distortion at any power output than the ap can even dream of. the ap will do its rated power no doubt, but the distortion is horrendous. their is a thread here somewhere about it.
