MM4000 or 2 AQ2200s= big difference or no

Im debating on running a MM4000 that I own or getting rid of it and getting 2 new AQ2200s. I only want to do it if there will be a noticeable gain. Now understand I don't do many comps this is mainly for a daily beater. They will most likely be pushing 4 08 Kicker L7 12s in a wall of my ford Taurus. I don't want to get bigger amps for this car, this most likely will be the last system I do in this car so I want it to satisfy me.

Let me know what guys think, and by the way the mm4000 is brand new in box, that is another reason Im not sure I want to get rid of it.

Hmmmm...thats a good question.

You can run the 2 AQs at a lower ohm than the MM, but they both put out really good power.

What ohm subs do you have?

they are both great amps. the mm4000 is a power hog. so if you keep the 4000, make sure your electrical is up to par.

i run a single C&D, stock batt/alt

4 1/0 runs(2 power/ground)

i start at like 14.3 and drop to 13.7 and that was idling.

x's 2 man! they are not the most efficient amp out there but they will do well over rated on good electrical and are far from "power hungry" like alot of other amps in its class. in fact for a 4000 watt amp they draw alot less than most 3kw amps do and still make more current than alot of 4kw amps.

Well they will be on 4 dual 4ohm L7s giving me the final 2ohm load that I need for either the MM4000 or for the AQs strapped.

As far as electrical goes don't worry about that it is very very up to par.

5500 is an assload from a pair of aq's on a 12 volt setup. Though so I don't know it seems almost tied on what to run. Need more input!!!!!

What you have should do the job well. I don't think you would see a huge difference, or one not big enough to spend the money on.

Do you even know that you're defying the laws of energy by saying that the MM4000 will draw a lot less amperage than most 3000 watt amps? Sorry, but you can't get a continuous 4kw+ in a car by drawing less than 300 amps...next thing I know, you'll be telling me the gp3000D does 20kw while drawing 5 amps.

Well I have already owned aq2200s and liked them but if I am only gonna see a gain in like a 1 db then I will not go through the trouble of selling my 4000 to get the aq's just yet. I will run it until i have the cash for a pair of aq3500s or SAZ 3500s.
