Because they are flashy chrome. Majority of people who actually know something about car audio don't have them.

They:

1) have very poor build quality

2) are overrated as you mentioned

3) have very poor sound quality

4) put looks before performance when designing their products

5) have repeated stolen product designs from other companies (only built them to a much lesser quality than the "original". Sorry, but a company with such poor business ethics will never get my money).

6) Last but not least, there is simply much better products available for the same price or less

I have messed around with some of their higher powered amps and a few of their subs. Never had a problem and was impressed with the output and overall performance.

Like anyother large audio company they make products that appeal to all buyers. If you buy RF, Alpine, ect and only buy entry level equipment, dont expect big dollar perfomance. Same applies to Audiobahn.

People always think that audiobahn is all show...no go. But personally i know about 10 people that all have audiobahns and they are all completly satified, shit i got two AWC12T's Bahns off ebay for 120 shipped to my door, brand new. I have them hooked up to a sony amp that i got for free, and im hittin 141.6 outlaw with ride all closed up.... I have gotten nothing but compliments on my system from many people... Even people that hate audiobahn were impressed when my two bahns out performed there shivas... But anyways.. i know people think that its all bling no sing with bahns, but i think that it is a fad, one person says oh they are all bling and no beat to them, then people pass it on and now everyone thinks that untill they actually deal with one.. i mean you ask anyone who has tried one , there is alot of good aspects to audiobahns, they sound good, and they deliver a great punch!

And also recently at the Competion in Lodi, there was a mass mojority of people running audiobahn equipment, they all didnt win 1st place, but some of the placed and others did some kick *** runs. so all in all audiobahn isnt all show.....
