audiobahn subs

I havn't owned their subs, but I have owned two sets of speakers and and amplifier, the amplifier is cool with me, no real problems, every once in a while (very rarely) it doesn't turn on first try, but turns on on the second.

As for their speakers...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsdown.gif.d22f25895e9b40f2300c953691dacfa2.gif

I have ACX693 6x9s that were their best 6x9s when I bought them, they sounded good to me at the time, but I didn't really know shit back then and hadn't heard many speakers outside of what BB and CC carried. They did get compliments when I amped them as to how much bass they put out, but looking back it sounded like butt. Also the magnets on both supertweeters fell off repeatedly... pretty crappy.

The ABC6002Q 6.5" Component set I have/had (recently replaced By CDT's, and plugged into the wall) were not bought through an authorised dealer and turned out to be B-stock items(surprise;) ) When I got them there was a coil loose in one of the cross-overs, so I opened it up and wow was the build quality horrid, looks like they were designed in the early 90's... after seeing CDT's X-overs I can also say they were unnecessicarily large too... but on to the crap. I actually didn't thing the SQ coming outta these was that bad, by no means am I saying it was good, just not BAD, I used these speakers for less than a year and the VC's were rubbing, when I pushed on the cone it sounded like having *** in the back of a car in GTA3... upon frying these and ripping them apart I can also say that the entire speaker looks cheap, all the way through...

The 6X9's also rub VCs, but I don't really hold that against them as the were clipped alot when I have them running off the head unit, so I don't honestly expect them to be in that great of condition now...

so basicly Amps:thumbsup: Fullrange Speakers:thumbsdo: subwoofers:confused:

i mean you ask anyone who has tried one , there is alot of good aspects to audiobahns, they sound good, and they deliver a great punch!
I've played with a few, and would never recommend them.

Plus I know someone who had 8 out of 10 Audiobahn subs fail on him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

they were in a sealed box.. maybe 1~2 cubes a piece (divided). given- the box was NOT made for the subs, but they sounded very loud, however the quality was disgusting. he ended up buying an external equalizer to fix it, and he said he had to take it off cuz it sounded weird.

so i know they get loud. but they sound terrible. ive also had a pair of 6x9s and 3.5's. both broke of the HU power. granted= they were prolly clipped, espically the 3.5's... but come on. sounded good until i got my CDTs and its not even a comparison anymore.

my oppinion- subs= loud\bad quality (compared to woofers of equal level) speakers=poor quality\bad sound. i spent like 60 shipped for the 6x9's and i spend 150 on my 6.5's and its a night and day difference, even off HU power. off the amp, its not even compairable.

and my buddy adam has one of the huge flame amps, and i suppose it pushes 2 15" rf punch subs (entry level subs) and they get real loud, but bah, same SQ\SPL as audiobahn with those speakers. i would imagine that its still an overrated amp tho.

Wait a second I had Alum12s and they were very good subs for the money (ebay)! I dont care for the flames, I just like that they are cheap and serve me well for the most part. The low end and even mid grade are not anything special. But I had two 1208Ts and they slammed! Dont compare to REs and subs of that quality, but they are not bad, and I had no problems. I was putting 2000rms to each with an AUDIOBAHN amps and they only heated up a bit when I first had it adjusted wrong, but after that they ran smoothly. They also did not even distort when I cranked the hell out of them, they just heated up. That is what you have to watch out for with Audiobahns, the heat!

Squeak... Last time at Circuit City one of the sale morons told me my RCA Ys would cut my voltage in half! I laughed at him and walked out. Audiobahns dont compare to a company like RE, but they are not bad and I never had a problem with my "higher end" Audiobahns.

the thing is, we ARE compairing them to better subs. theres no sence wasting money on this stuff.

i would not recommend them to my friends. but i would buy some cheap off ebay and install them in some random kids ride without telling him otherwise and making a quick buck though, they dotn know the difference between good sound and not. they just want the bump

trust me. when i listen to my single 10, it hits just as hard as my friends 2 12's and sounds way better doing it. i never said they didnt get loud. i never said they didnt work. i just said they didnt sound nearly as good as i was told by all the hype from everyone. in my expierence, they do not make quality speakers.

the immortal subs on the other hand, they 'were designed by digital designs' and look pretty snazzy to me. i like the black\brushed aluminum basket alot.

but you do get what you pay for. these TWO 12"s can be had for ~130 shipped... new. and thats how much my single 10 costed used. so if you wanna go for that, go ahead. but ill take the less travled route to better equipment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/chicken.gif.218ea7401db50d5e31a7e0b37e05e21e.gif

LOL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif Good work

audiobahn subs arent the worst sub you can buy lol. yes they are overrated, yes they are too flashy (gets stolen easier), yes they sound like *** (SQ wise). i'm satisfied with my setup right now (until i get my 15" SE) but i didnt pay retail price for it. Retail:: my sub is 305.99$ at a local dealer... i picked it up for like 75$. my setup cost me 175$ total (amp&sub). for 305$ you can get something that would absolutely murder an audiobahn sub yes. i wouldnt recommend buying them from a dealer or directly from audiobahn but if you can pick one up for between 75$-100$ they arent too bad at all....

squeak come down to the fort and i'll show ya what an audiobahn in a decent setup sounds like. holla!
